Comedy World Righteously Roasts Trump Over Gettysburg Gaffe
The New Republic ^ | 4-16-24 | Hafiz Rashid

Posted on 04/17/2024 12:14:35 PM PDT by AirForceVet1988

Speaking outside Allentown, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, Donald Trump left everyone confused when he attempted to explain the Battle of Gettysburg, praised (and invented a quote from) Confederate General Robert E. Lee, and generally had no idea what he was talking about.

When his off-the-cuff remarks hit late-night television on Monday, the hosts couldn’t hide their laughter. . . .

The LAAP-dog media had to find something to counter Sheila Jackson Lee's claim that the moon is made of gas.

Comedy world and lefty commentators spent weeks on Trump slowly walking down a wet slippery metal ramp with leather shoes on. I guess they are easily entertained.

Her gibberish went far beyond the moon being made of gas. She spent several minutes blathering and driveling about the Sun and the Moon in a voice that First Graders would find offensive and condescending ... and everything she said was wrong, including “and” and “the” ...

So maybe Mr. Trump said something ignorant and dumb. It happens. I don’t care. Until Big Media and Big Entertainment pay proper attention to the full-automatic gaffe-machine that is today’s democrat party, I’m not interested.

Trump’s enemies are consistently fooled by what he says.

Their first problem is they lack the mental ability to think on any level other than face value.

“As a president, it does”

Your friend Biden couldn’t pronounce Scranton, his hometown? A short distance away

Does that count as something not ok for the president to do?

The only thing that passes as daily tv comedy is Gutfeld. He didn’t mention this and he’s not reticent to make fun of Trump

I’m sure it wasn’t a big deal. And sure it was t funny

Why don’t they roast Biden on a daily basis when he trips over a sandbag or slurs his way through a sentence? Maybe they could find some comedy when Biden walks around on a stage like a lost dead guy from the Walking Dead . The guy is a stumbling embarrassment. His scripted interactions with the media are a joke.

Irrelevant to the conversation. I know you have a crush on Biden but start your own thread.

Has Joe Biden claimed yet that his son Beau was killed fighting the Germans at Gettysburg? If not, the day is young...

His comments are extremely superficial, but not wrong.

They seem unaware of Pickett’s Charge, ordered by Lee, across a field and up a hill. The Confederacy lost lost about an eighth of all their casualties in that three day battle during that less than one-hour charge.
