GOP lawmaker slams Republican colleagues over Ukraine support: ‘They would like to see the Russians win’
The Hill ^

Posted on 04/19/2024 6:58:36 PM PDT by USA-FRANCE

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas.) expressed a similar sentiment to CNN earlier in the day, arguing those behind the motion to vacate are siding with Russia.

“I guess their reasoning is that they want Russia to win so badly that they want to oust the Speaker over it,” Crenshaw said Thursday. “I mean, it’s a strange position to take.”

Plus our country is broke and we can’t afford to be ‘police of the world’.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Well... most of the 90 billions dollars for Israel, Taiwan and Ukraine will go directly to the American industry.
Thousands of new American jobs created, a reinvigorated American industry, etc...

Most of that money STAYS in America.

We are shipping our old military gear and old ammo (which had to be destroyed anyway because they were outdated) and we are now instead going to produce brand new ammo and weapons directly to OUR military.

Instead of destroying our old stuff, it goes to Ukraine, while we replenish our stocks with new stuff.

This is why Trump approved this loan/aid to our three allies (he gave the go ahead to Mike). It’s all about America First!

Europe is helping Ukraine just as strongly.

We need to learn to chew gum and walk at the same time.
With Trump at the White House we can close our border (it’s not very costly to do so. Proof: he did it already during his presidency) while supporting our allies with loans, while reinvigorating our American industry.

It’s all about America First!
Am I the only Trumpist on this thread?

So you see John Kerry as one your heroes too, he’s in the same class as McCain and Crenshaw.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

No, I can’t support John Kerry simply because he hasn’t an ounce of conservatism in him. And some of his military deeds were staged.

McCain (while I respect his great military service) lost me completely politically the day he put his thumb down concerning the end of “Obamacare”. Even though he hated Obamacare, he saved it just to get back at Trump. That was very bad and inexcusable.

Trump made one mistake though. He ridiculed McCain for being a prisoner of war, and thus a loser. That was uncalled for by Trump, he went to far on that one.

Generally speaking I respect conservatives whether they are center right or Maga-republicans. Republicans are too divided though... and that’s the only thing Democrats need.

Well... most of the 90 billions dollars for Israel, Taiwan and Ukraine will go directly to the American industry.

Israel is the only democracy in the middle east... it's a country that can - with assistance like the Abraham Accords - become the linchpin of peace in that region. And Taiwan - is of massive strategic importance - Taiwan creates the important chips that keep the world humming. Chips we won't be able to produce for years. Assisting those countries makes sense.

And Ukraine? Like most corrupt countries, they function to distribute the loot - to American politicians and other world 'elites' and their drug addicted whore monger sons. Yes, there's a reason so many American politicians give 'speeches' for $10,000 A MINUTE in these kinds of places. Maybe our politicians should make a case for why we're giving Ukraine money besides the stupid 'dominoes theory'. I'd like to hear it.

We need that money and those weapons for countries that might attack us or invade OUR country. Did you know thousands of Chinese men of military age have crossed the border since Biden took office? How do YOU feel about that?

Russia has an economy the size of Italy's. Russia's killing off thousands of their young men. There's no way they're going to take country after country after country. Putin is NOT Hitler. Trump is NOT Hitler. Hitler was Hitler. What Biden's doing is a nightmare. He's uniting Russia, China and Iran and a few other countries AGAINST us. And that damage will go on .. and on.. and on ... for years.

Not sure why you included me in your diatribe, I said absolutely nothing about Crenshaw. You should retract your statement in as much as you’ve referred to me inappropriately. Next time do better.

Saying that Ukraine would somehow be of lesser strategic importance compared to Taiwan and Israel is rather insane.
Why do you think Russia wants Ukraine so badly, at whatever the cost!? Because Ukraine is overflowing with natural resources, even massive reserves of uranium. Ukraine is also nourishing a large part of humanity with its massive grain production.

Secondly, if Russia overtakes Ukraine, all of Europe would be in a state of pre world-war three. It would be considered as Europe’s biggest security breach since WWII, an absolute trespassing of the red line. It would be considered as a direct existential threat to the EU and UK.
If Europe is at war, (and as America’s number one ally and trading partner), do you really think it would be good for America?? It would most probably force it to send troops again... history repeating itself for a third time...
I think we should avoid that, right? That’s why it’s smarter to make sure that Russia doesn’t take Ukraine in the first place. Common sense reasoning.

THE BUDAPEST MEMORANDUM (signed by America in 1994):
USA gave Security Assurances to Ukraine to protect its border and sovereignty, but only if Ukraine was willing to let go of it’s massive nuclear missile arsenal. Ukraine accepted America’s deal, and got rid of ALL nuclear weapons. They trusted America and gave away their nuclear security assurance, satisfying America’s demand, can you imagine that!? They truly trusted the USA.
And now what? Would you want America to commit treason against Ukraine and violate our own Budapest Memorandum signature and the deal we made with them? That would be an act of absolute moral decline.

Also, you talk about the sons of the elite in Ukraine doing drugs, etc... Well we that here in America as well...

And what about Israel’s leader’s son?
Well... drugs, prostitution, financial scandals...:
Israeli Leader’s Son Takes Center Stage in Corruption Sagas
https://www.voanews.com/a/middle-east_israeli-leaders-son-takes-center-stage-corruption-sagas/6192260.html

As you see, it’s hyper corruption within Israel leadership... so... do you want to end all help to Israel now as well??

U.S. funds not misused in Ukraine, U.S. Treasury says amid corruption crackdown
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-treasury-says-no-indication-that-us-funds-were-misused-ukraine-2023-01-31/

Actually, Zelensky was elected in a landslide victory (73%), in order to act against corruption. And that is what he has been doing non-stop since he was elected. He is the Ukrainian version of Trump! He is the first Ukrainian leader to actively fight against corruption, he got rid of most corrupt pro-kremlin delinquents already, and many more. Corruption was put in place in Ukraine by the Kremlin many decades ago, it takes some time to root it all out.

Lastly:
Yes, Russia’s economy is the size of Italy’s. But!...
The size of Russia’s military is massive, it has a massive reserve force (man power) ready to be called in.
Russia gets immense military help from North Korea, 3 million shells! Tens of thousands of attack drones from IRAN, gigantic economical help from China!

They are all our traditional enemies, and evidently they are close allies.

Russia is eating bits of Georgia, bits of Moldova... and soon apparently.. its going for our friends in Armenia.

All this imperialist Russian madness must end soon, if not we will be in a world war sooner rather than later.

No is not the time to play Chamberlain games.

Also, you talk about the sons of the elite in Ukraine doing drugs, etc... Well we that here in America as well...

I was referring to Western 'elites' and their NEPO sons being drug addicted whore mongers - not about the sons of Ukrainians. I was referring causally to the Hunter Biden, white liberal 'elite' types and useless offspring of European 'elites'. Our country is being invaded by illegals of military age from countries around the world who self identify as our enemies. We need to defend OUR borders. When OUR house is in order we can consider helping out in the other hundredand ten wars going on in the world.

Also, what makes Russia so bad? Well, I'll tell you - the Russian power structure uses 'the law' against their opponents, they cheat on elections, they spy on their own citizens, people have to 'watch' their speech for fear of being 'outed' as an enemy of the state, there's a double standard to everything based on political party participation etc etc etc.

Now, tell me - how is that so different from what Biden and his goons are attempting to create in the United States?

“Now, tell me - how is that so different from what Biden and his goons are attempting to create in the United States?”

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Well, there is a huge difference. Here is my answer:
In America it’s possible to get rid of the leaders we don’t like, via elections.
That’s why Trump will be elected this november. A perfect proof that we still have freedom in America.
Attempting to compare America to Russia / North Korea or China is beyond unfair.

In America the political power shifts non-stop between Democrats and Republicans - whether it’s in the legislative branch or executive branch. Right? That’s a proof our Constitutional Republic is working pretty well.

In Russia... you don’t see that. Putin has been sitting as “dear leader” for over two decades now.
And he put in place a new law which can make him stay for life.

Vladimir Putin passes law that may keep him in office until 2036

I'm a Trumpists - most of us are... the question isn't "do we love our country and support putting America first' - but how does that love play out in our choices.

Pakistan suspended mobile phone services nationwide as voters in the world’s fifth most-populous nation headed to the polls for a tumultuous general election that’s been marred by violence and questions of impropriety.

A statement from the Ministry of Interior posted on X Thursday morning said in Urdu that, in response to “recent incidents of terrorism” in the country, cellular networks had been cut off “to maintain the law and order situation and deal with possible threats.” (More than two dozen people were killed in a pair of bombings on candidates’ offices in the southwestern region of Balochistan on Wednesday; the Islamic State claimed responsibility for those attacks.)

Acknowledging the importance of increased investment to economic growth and development, the United States supports Ukraine’s efforts to enhance investor protections. Recognizing the importance of a well functioning energy sector, the parties intend to work closely together on rehabilitating and modernizing the capacity of Ukraine’s gas transit infrastructure and diversify and secure Ukraine’s sources of nuclear fuel making Ukraine less dependent on foreign sources of nuclear fuel and nuclear fuel storage.

The United States and Ukraine also intend to cooperate in the area of public-private partnerships in regions of Ukraine aimed at supporting small and medium enterprises. Strengthening the rule of law, promoting reform of the legal system and of law enforcement structures and combating corruption are all of key importance to the well being of Ukraine. We intend to work together to support reform, democracy, tolerance and respect for all communities.

United States and Ukraine intend to increase cooperation that will expand media and public monitoring of anti-corruption efforts; enforce ethical standards by establishing internal investigation units; and streamline the government regulatory process.

The United States and Ukraine plan to work together to promote reform in Ukraine’s legislative processes through increased transparency, heightened accountability through citizen and media access, and expanded public information about the work of Ukraine’s parliament.

___________________________________________________________

Here's the problem with the above pretty words - that's all they are.

The reason Ukraine is loved by the elites' is BECAUSE they're corrupt. Because Biden's son can get a job there for over $60,000 A MONTH and Biden can go over an brag about getting a man fired for investigating corruption.

And as far as 'rare earth elements' ect - Afghanistan had all that and more. And how did that help the US? Not any.

Unless I'm wrong Ukraine's resources don't belong to us under any circumstances. And if we save them they haven't offered a 'trade discount' to our country. Or anything for that matter. Beyond winks and nods from fellow 'elites'.

Uranium? Hillary Clinton sold many of our Uranium rights to Russia years ago.

Whatever benefits and 'gratitude' for saving Ukraine will go to our 'elites'. You know that. If there's some deal they'll pay OUR COUNTRY back for what we've spent - please let me know.

The usual way these things work is we give some corrupt country billions and in exchange they 'buy' a million books some corrupt democrat has published (with a side deal to the publisher 'not to print the excess books' ) Why? Because when you dump that many books on the secondary market it's noticed. So for a little extra cash, the books ordered are never printed. In the middle east there were countries that understand bribes - it's a part of their culture - but even those middle east countries resented American politicians going over to give 'speeches' for $10,000 a MINUTE with the qualifications that more than 40 people had to be in the audience. (so the money that exchanged hands didn't look like a bribe') So middle eastern countries had to hire citizens who didn't even speak English to sit through 'speeches' that were nothing more than bribes. Because that's how the dirty Americans 'play' the game.

Most hellhole countries have Constitutions with beautiful words but the paper is only worth the integrity of the people supporting the laws. You know that too. I can tell you're a thoughful person.

Ukraine;s a corrupt country and not worth the treasure of the American people. That's the reality. If Ukraine wants to pay us back for the weapons we supply them with - then we'll talk. Maybe a business agreement - not flowery words to fool the yokels... Other than that this 'war' is one more trough for the elites to feed on... if 'our side wins... and one more trough for the other side to pig out on if they win. That's not 'American First - that's corrupt 'elites first'...

Hillary was ‘projecting’ the other day - saying Trump wanted to kill his political opponents. Since I’m sure Hillary’s NOT one of Trump’s confidants - it’s easy to assume Hillary’s talking about how SHE feels. The press never calls them on their BS mind-reading crap - maybe that’s why they do it... it’s a mystery.
