Ukraine will be America’s next Vietnam, Russia says after House passes massive aid bill

Ukraine will be a “humiliating fiasco” for America like Vietnam if Washington continues its muddied involvement, a Russian official said Sunday.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova issued the scathing comment a day after US lawmakers in the House of Representatives green-lit a long-delayed $60 billion aid bill for Ukraine that will help the war-weary nation buy more advanced weapons and defense systems.

“Washington’s deeper and deeper immersion in the hybrid war against Russia will turn into a loud and humiliating fiasco for the United States, such as Vietnam and Afghanistan,” Zakharova said, adding that it’s become clear the US wants Ukraine “to fight to the last Ukrainian.”

But, on the bright side, Biden, many Senators and several Congresspersons will be a lot richer, with the kickbacks they receive from Zelensky.

They won't be fighting in it, they just want to get Americans into it. The more dead, the better, according to the Deep Staters.

This is Russia with its ankle caught in a bear trap trying to convince its occasionally mutinous troops that, any day now, defeat is at hand for the US. The funny thing is that in Vietnam, thousands of Russian troops were on the ground in the North to deter a US invasion.

And it’s Russian troops in Ukraine who are sustaining the first real damage they have taken since they went after separatist Chechens decades ago. The larger goal is probably to intimidate Americans, while also giving Putin an out if he decides to pack it in. While shameful to lose to Ukraine, it’s no disgrace to lose to the US.

Russia's advance along the rail line has entered Ocheretyne. With Semenivka also contested and Pervomais’ke captured, Ukraine's two-month-held fallback line is compromised. Expect a gradual withdrawal to defences behind the Vovcha River and its reservoirs.

Ukraine has little or no air defense. How are we going to get whatever is purchased and supplied to the battlefield?

Also, this money can't go to developing new systems which would take too long to arrive. Instead it will be going to manufacture legacy systems which the Russians may have developed countermeasures for. There are increasing reports of waves of Ukrainians surrendering. Others are being decimated by glide bombs.
