Adams: Jewish Students Are Facing What Black Students Faced in Little Rock

On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead,” New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) said that Jewish students are “going through” the same experience as black students did in Little Rock when they had “to be escorted on campuses because they were afraid for their lives.”

Adams said, “I can feel the duality of this moment. As I stated, I understand the pain that is playing out in Israel and in Gaza at this time. I understand what Palestinian New Yorkers are going through, and, in a peaceful way, to display that. I understand what the Israeli[s] experienced on October 7. And so the duality of that moment is important.”

The comments made by Adams was actually not all that bad. Jewish students today face violence. Black students in Little Rock back then faced violence. There is a parallel. And to be honest, I’m actually surprised that Adams was so balanced here.

I guess his advisors told him he was in danger of losing the NYC Jewish vote.

Anyway, it’s worth noting that back in 1957 the black students in Little Rock were able to peacefully attend classes because Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower made sure of it. Ike federalized the Arkansas National Guard, and the Guard protected those black kids.

I’m rather sure that if Trump were president today, he’d make a move similar to the one Ike made. Trump would do something to protect those Jewish students.

And what about Biden? He’s too busy kissing Muslim butt to worry about the safety of Jewish kids.

The reality about antisemitism on many US college campuses is that this a great escalation, but it’s nothing new. For quite a few years there have been reports of speakers sponsored by Jewish students, or attempts to set up some sort of information booth on campus, being disrupted and shut down by Muslim student organizations of some description.

That’s been tolerated for years and this current, much more aggressive and even violent manifestation of antisemitism seems also to have been tolerated most everywhere so far.

Maybe that will change soon...

Black students in Little Rock weren't facing violence from people supported by the black students' own parents. Jewish students at Columbia University are facing those who were supported by the Jewish students' parents.
