Former President Donald Trump offered words of praise for House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., saying he is "trying very hard" and is "a very good person."
His comments came Monday evening during an interview with Real America's Voice radio host John Fredericks.
"Look, we have a majority of one [in the House]," Trump said. "It's not like he can go and do whatever he wants. I think he's a very good person. I think he's a very good man. I think he's trying very hard. And, again, we have to have a very big election" to increase the Republican majority in the House.
"We have to elect some good senators, get rid of some of the ones we have right now like [Mitt] Romney and others. We have to have a big day and win the presidency."

Trump has chosen to lose the election.
Mike Johnson is a disappointment, but at the end of the day Ukraine was always gonna get the additional money because they tied it to aid to Israel and no border funding or new laws were gonna help the border with Biden in the White House ignoring the law.
We need this election and party chaos is not gonna help.
We lose this time, we don’t make it.
Unfortunately, our fates are intertwined.
The world today is much smaller than it was in 1776. Chinese or Russian missiles or planes can reach us much faster than it took British troops to cross the Charles River on the way to Lexington and Concord.
It appears Trump is being ill advised- again. He is drifting away from core concerns…example, endorsing the clot shots ( but he didn’t force everyone to get it), quasi support for Ukie funding, supporting Abortion by allowing States to commit murder,….BUT we shall see what he does when elected. Talk is just talk, we need to watch closely his actions when elected.
Endorsing this Johnson is definitely a negative development.
President Trump is right. Democrats need to be massively defeated -- even whatever is greater than massive -- if there is any hope to finally, at long last, reverse all the damage they have done. Sadly, I don't have enough faith in the American electorate to believe it will happen. :(
I believe MTG was for waiting to vacate Johnson until after election. Then Chip Roy And Tom Massie opened their mouths about doing it now.
Do those two get on your nerves?
In fact, Johnson the House Republicans pushed through funding for new FBI facility.
I doubt much is going to happen between now and the election.
Vacating the Speaker would be a distraction and would cause a backlash. By keeping the status quo, those who are against him can use it as a campaign tool.
It’s all about campaign contributions at this stage.
Congress will do their stuff for the next month and then, for all intents and purposes, they will do even more “nothing” for the rest of the year.
Lincoln had to go through a couple of horrible Generals before he found Grant and Sherman.
Nothing changes. Johnson is traitor and a dirty coward. Trump may have to dance on the head of a pin to get elected but it doesn’t change this truth.
She should’ve received that message five x five! It was pretty clear.
Sometimes Trump works in mysterious ways. You just have to take it on faith. In the famous words of Jerome Corsi “Trump always looks like he’s losing just before he wins”.
I remember hearing Trump once remark on how he likes to lay in bed at night making his plans and schemes. 😉
Why do that? After the election would cause chaos. There won’t be anything done until Jan and they the new Congress can select their new leader.
“Nothing changes. Johnson is traitor and a dirty coward. Trump may have to dance on the head of a pin to get elected but it doesn’t change this truth.”

1000% THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If we want any of our most important priorities passed into law, we need at least 60 Senators and close to 300 house members. Even more Senators to overcome a veto.
Where do those come from?
RIGHTO!
Besides, there is nothing left on the calendar of grave substance that justifies the risk of handing Jeffries to Trump.
Johnson should have appointed a Republican replacement, and then resigned.
In the absence of a resignation abd appointment, where he is voted out, the Chamber must vote.
They might just elect Harrem Abdullah Jefferies. (D-?)
Johnson can’t “appoint” his replacement.
Vacate the chair.
You may have a point.
He's telling them that he's the main provider of "stupid," and he needs a monopoly and the room to release his own version of "stupid."
Of course, there's no guarantee he'll be coming back home again -- ever.
There is not much hope that we will be America again. The global masters will not allow it nor will they let Trump win or govern if they screw up the fake election. If you expect the Republican party to do anything but what the masters want you are naive.
