Trump defends House Speaker Mike Johnson amid ouster threat: ‘Trying very hard’
The New York Post ^ | 04/23/2024 | Josh Christenson

Posted on 04/23/2024 9:13:03 AM PDT by thegagline

“Look, we have a majority of one, OK? It’s not like he can go and do whatever he wants to do,” Trump, 77, told radio host John Fredericks on Real America’s Voice Monday night.

“I think he’s a very good person. You know, he stood very strongly with me on NATO,” added Trump, referring to a campaign rally in which he urged member states to pay more for their common defense — or he would let Russia “do whatever the hell they want.”

“I think he’s trying very hard,” the 45th president concluded.

Johnson (R-La.) bucked the majority of his conference on Saturday and joined with 210 House Democrats to pass $60.8 billion that will assist Ukraine in its war against Russia.

*** “Mike Johnson’s speakership is over. He needs to do the right thing, to resign, and allow us to move forward in a controlled process. If he doesn’t do so, he will be vacated,” Greene said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

Two other House Republicans — Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Paul Gosar of Arizona — signed onto a motion introduced by Greene to vacate Johnson’s speakership ahead of the vote.

All three cited Johnson’s failure to secure the US border amid the growing migrant crisis, while Massie accused the speaker of getting run over by Democrats during recent negotiations on government spending. ***

Trump supports Judas because Judas promised him something in return for?:

1) FedGov spying on us without a warrant
2) Banning social/alternative media, starting with TikTok.
3) Funding Ukraine’s border, but not the US border after we have been successfully invaded there.
4) Same with Israel.

That’s disqualifying.

Trump was probably promised something, like he was for not pardoning Assange.

Probably just as well there was no money allocated for the southern border.

Does anyone think that any of it would have gone to strengthening the border?

More likely handed to illegals.

That why they call it a long con. Maximum effect.

I am not saying that is what is going on. I just get a bit nervous that Trump makes so many mistakes. I know he is the only chance we have so I have to vote for him. There is no chance for this country if he does not retake the presidency. But I also know from thing like this that he says that he will do many disappointing things as well.

There are already Republican members saying they won’t support his removal, and the Democrats will end up being his preservers.

That’s hardly a stunning endorsement of the man for the office he’s seeking again.

That funding will be spent within the month on US weapons that Ukraine has been holding out for.

Nobody gets everything, in terms of ability. Nature always compensates in that people who have unusual skills always have crippling weaknesses as well.

Trump was the only possible America First populist who had the personal wealth, media skills and charisma to defeat the Bushes, defeat the Clintons and win the Presidency.

But he has very poor judgement when it comes to the motivations and capability of other people.

He goes by people who are nice to him, who flatter him, or are physically attractive, or who are good on TV, or who fit a physical archetype of what he thinks a position requires.

And choosing on those bases has burned him again and again and again.

In my view it is not possible to elect reform populist nationalists to actually change the direct of any of the Western countries. They are just too captured by Progressives.

We need Regime collapse, not reform.

But Trump is clearly a disruptive and destabilizing force, that weakens the Regime, and maybe accelerates future collapse.

Even MTG was taking in cash from insider trading on Ukraine. These are not really rinos vs anyone. Even MAGA insider trading.
They have funded everything Obama and Biden asked them to. From Obama are, which Trump calls ACA.
They are all cashing in.

Trump has greatly reduced his chances of winning with this.

It can and will get spun every which way there is. But in the end it is going to come across to a large group as capitulation to the Democrats. And that is going to hurt.

With Democrats it's all about lying, cheating and stealing for political power and gain

The media moves in lockstep to disseminate Democrat lies and propaganda

It's been this way since the 1980s

This is the reason we see disasters and things fall apart when Democrats are in power

The country gets fed up and elects guys like Reagan, Bush and Trump to make things right but then forgets how bad Democrats are and re elects them once things are straightened out.

At some point, decisions have to be made on their merits. If you do a check, you will find that I have been one of the most strident critics the Biden Ukraine policy because I felt that those policies were leading us to where we actually are now- the rapidly impending destruction of the Ukraine and a military collapse leading to complete Russian victory

This collapse is bad for the entire world- including Russia, which is why Russia is not pressing forward to exploit Ukraine's weaknesses

We have been funding not just Ukraine's military, we have been funding at least 75% of the Ukraines government, industry, pension system and civilian population welfare payments

It is not appreciated that Ukraine's pre war GDP was around 70 billion dollars so we have pumped more US dollars into their country than their entire annual GDP for over two years which is kind of mind boggling

No more US funding and the entire Ukraine collapses economically and militarily within weeks regardless of what the Russians do -and we were within weeks of that collapse

We have to realists and the reality is a Ukrainian collapse at this point would be a disaster of epic proportions.

The scumbag Democrats and Biden Admin will simply maintain the current stays would of misery, death and destruction in Ukraine, but it will allow the Ukraine to survive until Trump hopefully takes office and facilitates an end to the conflict

The only thing that I can think of that could be worse than the funding package Johnson brokered is standing by and not supporting the Ukraine.

Therefore, I regretfully support Johnson 100%. It's a bad deal but johnson was dealt a losing hand on this one from the gitgo and I feel he played it as well as possible under the circumstances .

Due to the treachery of the RINO wing of the Republican Party and the disunity of the entire Republican caucus getting border security passed as part of the deal was a bridge too far

“If Mike falls, the Democrat/RINOs will make sure a Biden puppet will replace him. Trust Trump—He knows what he’s doing!”

My comment has nothing to do with Trump and everything to do with the Republican branch of the Uniparty.

“So you’re saying DeSantis is the only person who’s against RINOs in Congress?”

Give me a clue. DeSantis is a RINO.

You don’t make a lot of sense. You say the Republicans have to veer to the left, because that’s the only way they can win. That’s the mating call of the RINO.
