Russian forces make significant gains in eastern Ukraine

Russian forces have made significant advances in a narrow corridor in eastern Ukraine as an offensive by Moscow to take territory before western military aid arrives appears to be gathering pace.

Footage posted by Kremlin military bloggers shows a Russian tricolour flying above the shattered village of Ocheretyne. Russian troops reportedly entered the territory on Sunday, north-west of the town of Avdiivka, after advancing about 5km in 10 days.

It comes as Ukraine’s foreign ministry said it was suspending consular services for military-age men living abroad, except for those heading back to Ukraine, in a move designed to increase conscription.

Its capture means Russia has managed to bypass the northern flank of Ukraine’s recently constructed forward line, including minefields and trenches.

Are you hoping invading Russian Nazis arrive in your town, too? Hopefully without a proceeding artillery barrage? A good locations for FSB Bolshevik torture chamber in your neighborhood? Your link shows once again that where Russia goes only misery and death follow.

Factually incorrect. The US army has 3700 early model Abrams tanks in storage. 31 have been given to Ukraine. The year may change but the fundamental dishonesty of Kremlin Bolshevik gaslighting never changes.

Imagine how many people and machines you are going to lose at that pace.

I don’t think that’s an issue as much as 155 artillery shells, which our side seems to have expended.

It depends on what Russia’s objective is. If it’s to bleed the west dry of money, deplete their military resources and wear down the will of Ukraine supporters, they are winning. If they objective is a fast victory in grabbing Ukraine, they are doing a poor job.

Are you trying to be ironic?

Russia invaded a sovereign country.

In fact, that would be like you going to a bird sanctuary and saying “this is mine now” as you start blasting holes all over the place!

I mean, they’re fighting for independence and self-determination. They’re quite literally fighting for their freedom from Russia.

Ukraine is using our mothballed crap on Russian invaders to a startling degree.

So it’s like a win-win!

Amazing that an army always drunk on vodka, using washing machine parts and shovels can beat a US/NATO trained and supplied army, isn’t it?
