Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) blasted conservative commentator Tucker Carlson on Tuesday for playing a leading role in demonizing the idea of sending military aid to Ukraine, saying the former Fox News host wound up “where he should have been all along” when he gave Russian President Vladimir Putin a megaphone during a fawning interview earlier this year.
“I think the demonization of Ukraine began by Tucker Carlson, who in my opinion ended up where he should have been all along, which was interviewing Vladimir Putin,” McConnell said, referring to Carlson’s two-hour interview with Putin in February, which drew widespread criticism for not challenging Putin’s dubious claims and declarations.
“He convinced a lot of rank-and-file Republicans that maybe this was a mistake,” he said.

Let’s put forward the fact that many Magas have misunderstood Trump. Many think he is anti-Ukraine, and therefore they feel compelled to behave “anti-Ukraine”... but that idea has been created out of thin air. Because in reality, Trump is pro-Ukraine. He proved that during his presidency in a spectacular way. He was the toughest on Russia. As president, Trump was the one who initiated the whole process of shipping large quantities of US weapons to Ukraine. Obama had REFUSED to do so!
Trump really did reverse Obama’s Zero-Weapons-to Ukraine policy. Isn’t it ironic that some supposedly pro-Trump Freepers here are unwittingly supporting Obama’s foreign policies? It’s crazy.
Those here on FR thinking Trump will somehow reward anti-Ukraine rhetoric, are actually doing Trump a huge disfavor. It’s not what Trumps wants at all. Another proof? Yes, the Trump-Johnson Mar-a-Lago meeting which prompted the whole new pro-Ukraine approach in Congress.
Trump gave Mike the go-ahead for a vote on supporting Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan. These three are helping America’s stance in the world and are true allies of America.

Tucker is against the Russian and Ukrainian people. He doesn’t denounce the fact that Putin has killed over 300.000 Russians people/troops and +70.000 Ukrainians already in only 2 years in this “Special Operation”.

In the end, it probably would have worked out better for Biden to NOT send the $61B to Ukraine and let them come to terms with Russia before June. But the Republicans, ALWAYS ready to help the Democrats when they step in it, instead just gave them the money, and now Ukraine’s collapse is likely to happen much closer to the election, if the events on the ground in the past 24 hours are representative of the state of the war.
Oh well, the Republicans gave Biden a lifeline (a way out of Ukraine that didn’t fall into Biden’s lap), but Biden’s people even fumbled that opportunity.
