JPMorgan Chase (JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon is concerned the US economy could be in for a repeat of the problems that hampered the country during the 1970s.

"Yes, I think there’s a chance that can happen again," he said during an appearance Tuesday at the Economic Club of New York.

The economy in that troubled decade was constrained by stagflation, a combination of low growth and high inflation, and Dimon said such a risk exists again.

Forbes said Dimon’s net worth is $2.1 Billion.
He may have to search for cash deposit returnable cans and bottles to make ends meet.

We're in much worse shape than in the 1970s.

Our national debt, both numerically and as a percentage of GDP, is far greater.

A far larger percentage of our population relies on government pensions, benefits or entitlements.

Our human capital is of lower quality. Lower IQ, more violent, less cohesive, less inclined to shared sacrifice, less moral and religious, more mentally ill and sexually perverse.

I only hope this country holds together till I'm gone.

This is the gnawing-at-the-gut reason why I'm beginning to think President Trump should not be POTUS come next January.

This crap sandwich cannot be fixed in 2 years...which is all the time he would have before the mid-term elections where the full-time adversarial media and dumbed-down citizenry will award the Democrats with a clear majority of both Houses of Congress.

I experienced high double digit 30 year fixed mortgage rates of Ronald Reagan's 1st term...the only solution to turn this disaster around is to make it expensive to borrow money.

Let's face it. Barack Obama is the Anti-Christ and he destroyed this wonderful experiment called the United States of America.

This guy wants the emergency zero percent rates into eternity.

We’re in better shape than in 70’s.

We have energy independence if we so choose to exert it.

No nation can exist in the first world without access to our financial system.

We borrowing at 4.5% with $200trillion in debt/unfunded obligations.

The rest of the free world has never been so dependent on US innovation. Their healthcare systems cannot survive without us subsidizing them. Many are indefensible to a large flock of birds without our defense.

The economy is doing better than expected under the most anti business administration ever.

Trump will be free rolling again just like following Obama.
One can’t do worse than these people.

I totally hear you bro.

Some tactical/stratergic actions to take would be well to delineate.

Things continue to accelerate.

Interestingly, he would be much better off inheriting a crashed economy.

It’s one of those weird things that even Nobel winners like Krugman refuse to accept.

Trump growing the economy after six years of previous growth in 2016 is much, much more difficult than growing an economy starting at the bottom.

The idiots always cite inheriting a bad economy as negative-
the reality is every year of growth brings the next recession closer. As X years gets higher, it is more and more difficult to grow it and more and more likely that a recession is coming sooner and not later.

So simple, so true and widely acclaimed economists refuse to acknowledge reality.

Obv he was aided by these people being so anti business that any normalization was beneficial.

[Let's face it. (#1) Barack Obama is the Anti-Christ and (#2) he destroyed this wonderful experiment called the United States of America.]

I'd love to say you're incorrect, but I can't - especially (#2) - regarding (#1), he certainly does a fantastic impersonation - at the very least

All according to plan.

They are going to WISH that the U.S. Economy is merely like in the 1970s...

It is going to be more like Weimar in the 1930s.

That's exactly right and what I say to anyone who'll listen. He "fundamentally" destroyed our great nation.

” Barack Obama is the Anti-Christ and he destroyed this wonderful experiment called the United States of America.”

To some extent I agree, but I also think Bill Clinton was kind of like the “anti John the Baptist” to Obama’s “Antichrist.” When Clinton came in 1993, I felt like the torch had been passed to someone who, for the first time, embraced the values of the counterculture. It was Clinton who embraced gays in the military. It was with Clinton and his “I didn’t inhale” shtick in which drug use/abuse made a big comeback after declining in the ‘80s.

“We’re in much worse shape than in the 1970s.”
That was my first thought. Like most here, I lived through the 1970s and remember it. I’ll take it over now, any day of the week, as back then we still had a white country, liberals were stuck in universities (only), gays were where they belonged (as they quickly learned in the 1980s), and on top of that, we were landing men (not women) on the moon, on a regular basis.

“I only hope this country holds together till I’m gone.”
Same here, and probably like you, I look at younger generations and really feel sorry for them, as they have NO IDEA as to what the Left has in store from them.
