There’s more than one viable argument here.
One is that satanism is not a religion as is claimed here. This is strong in that satanism opposes the universal moral principles found in every other religion.
Another argument is that satanism is the enemy of God, on which the Constitution is based and therefore satanism is the enemy of our Constitution.
I should have said:
“Satanism opposes the universal moral principles found in all religions.”
God is not mentioned in the constitution.
“Satanism” is just secular humanism for Drama Club kids. They don’t actually believe in any diety.
Better read your constitution again.
"Religion" to the Founders was not a "resolutely non-theistic" fraternal organization (the Satanic Temple, basically a preforming arts and political org.), "which does not even endorse supernatural (or 'supernormal') explanations...".
Yet since the IRS granted religious tax-exempt status to them, then not only must every US state gov. allow them religious rights and protections, but it opens the door for all sorts of secular org. claiming religious. Which means that neither the IRS or SCOTUS ruled consistent with what the Founders had in mind a religion.
