Gov. Kristi Noem has “no shot” at being Donald Trump’s running mate after revealing in a forthcoming book that she shot and killed her puppy, sources close to the 45th president tell The Post.

“She was already unlikely to be picked as VP, but had a shot,” the person said of Noem, who has been widely projected to be on Trump’s shortlist.
“After this, it’s just impossible.”
Noem writes, according to the Guardian, that she executed Cricket, a 14-month-old wirehaired pointer, after determining that the pooch’s “aggressive personality” made her “untrainable” as a hunting dog.
“It was not a pleasant job,” the 52-year-old recounts, “but it had to be done.”
*** “Trump isn’t a dog person necessarily,” “but I think he understands that you can’t choose a puppy killer as your pick, for blatantly obvious reasons.”
A second source told The Post that Trump “likes Kristi a lot,” but was “disappointed when hearing the ‘dog’ story. ***
Unfettered, Cricket attacked the family’s chickens, “grabb[ing] one chicken at a time, crunching it to death with one bite, then dropping it to attack another,” according to the governor.
When Noem tried to restrain the dog, Cricket “whipped around to bite me,” and was “the picture of pure joy” during the fowl-killing spree.
In the same excerpt, Noem described in graphic detail her killing a male goat who was “nasty and mean” because it was uncastrated, and “loved to chase” her children around.
To kill the goat, she “dragged him to the gravel pit” where she disposed of Cricket and had to shoot him repeatedly to finish the job.

lol. Don’t give them the ammo. This woman is quite possibly the dumbest politician in history. She bragged about it in a book. Tone deaf is an understatement.
It wasn’t a puppy. It was a year and a half old.
Live in the city? Killing animals is a reality on a farm.
This is incomplete. The opotics are bad but they’re far worse out of focus.
They can’t call her the next Hitler, “puppy killer” fits in.

I had predicted Noem would get the VP slot to appeal suburban women voters. But suburban women are never going to wrap their minds around this story.
So I have to agree with you. Noem will not be the Vice President on the Republican ticket.

Agreed. But as others have pointed out, writing about it was an act of political stupidity.
This should disqualify every democrat that kills or wants to kill babies.
It surprises me that here on FR people are condemning her for being cruel, being tone-deaf, etc. -

She can kill 100 puppies. But keep your big mouth shut and definitely don’t write it in an autobiography.

Train the dog. Until the dog is trained, she could have placed it in an area away from chickens. It isn't that difficult .
As for the ornery castrated goat that liked to chase children. 1) keep children away from the goat. 2) castrate the goat. 3) Also, the article said she had to shoot the goat multiple times to kill it. I would suggest that she should brush up on her marksmanship.

Whatever the case, the other part of his statement still stands.
Bottom line is this: A dog bred to hunt birds .. misbehaves and kills birds … just not the ones Noem wanted her to. Because the dog escaped from Noem’s truck (whose fault is that?).
Train and secure your dog.
Noem didn’t. Instead, she got mad, admittedly “hated” the dog, and shot it. Again, lazy and depressing.
Most of us kill animals every single day but it’s all wrapped in plastic at the store.
If Noem was pro choice they’d vote for her?
