Japan can actually be quite welcoming to the right type of immigrants. Some of the best years of my working career were spent there.

Japan will likely need immigrants to fill labor shortages but they're not going to be stupid about it. They're not going to import swaths of Africans. They'll bring over Filipinos (they already are) as well as Malaysians and Vietnamese.
