Putin’s crushing new offensive could be the end of Ukraine
The Telegraph ^ | May 2, 2024 | CON COUGHLIN

Missiles from North Korea, drones from Iran, and a massive amount of technical assistance from China. Russian President Vladimir Putin may complain about the backing Ukraine is receiving from Nato allies, but it is doubtful that Russia would be able to maintain its military offensive without the help it is getting from its motley collection of autocratic friends.

In the latest indication of the support Moscow is receiving for its war effort in Ukraine, a team of UN investigators has concluded that debris from a missile that landed in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv on January 2 was from a North Korean Hwasong-11 series ballistic missile.

The weapon was supplied to Moscow by Pyongyang, despite North Korea being subjected to a wide range of sanctions imposed in 2006 over its ballistic and nuclear programmes. The missile, moreover, will have been part of the massive consignment of weapons North Korea has sent to Russia in recent months, with South Korean security officials estimating that nearly 7,000 shipping containers filled with missiles, artillery shells and other ammunition have been dispatched since December.

Iranian drones have become a familiar feature of the Ukrainian battlespace, with Russian forces using them regularly to conduct swarm attacks against key Ukrainian infrastructure. China’s support for Putin’s war effort is, by contrast, focused more on helping Russia to rebuild its military industrial base to a level not seen since the Soviet era.

The latest assessment conducted by the Biden administration prior to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to Beijing last month found that China was providing significant quantities of machine tools, drone and turbojet engines, and technology for cruise missiles and helping the Russians to expand their satellite capabilities on the Ukrainian battlefield. Chinese and Russian organisations are coordinating efforts to develop drone production within Russia.

“China knows that if Russia yields to the West they will be next.”

How-in-the-actual-F is invading, conquering and annexing other countries ‘yielding to the West’?

It’s a Russian Smash-and-Grab of another nation. That’s all. China is there for a payout.

A lot of debt that China has is in the form of US treasury notes, bonds and TIPs.

A direct result of the Uyghur slaves switching over from producing Ukraine flags to Palestinian headwear for US college students, I’m convinced.

As Napoleon once said, “When you set out to take Vienna, take Vienna.”

Lots of American money has helped to make sure a half million young Ukrainian men have died. That is quite an accomplishment for our sick, corrupt political class.

Who will be left alive in Ukraine to surrender?

You say the Ruble is circling the drain but it is close to what it was now when the war began.

You mock other countries for crushing debt but USA has a debt to GDP ratio 5 times worse than Russias.

And according to the IMF, Russia’s economy is now growing faster than every advanced economy in the world. But you say just give it time and they will die. We are dying faster

That may be the point! I sometimes wonder if this war is about removing Ukrainians off Ukrainian land for the WEF

“God willing, yes.”

Agree. While not happy with the likely outcome, I am more than ready for this situation to be over. Our treasury cannot take much more ...

You think we are more mighty today then anytime in history? You must really believe in Joe Biden. I have no faith in our ability to win a world war. The leadership of our country and the military is a joke. We don’t produce enough weapons to fight a major war despite the hundreds of billions we spend yearly on our military. Fighting a world war with a vegetable at the helm is national suicide.

Many of our best warriors and officers have already gotten out. And we are no longer recruiting from our warrior caste which is mostly Scotch-Irish/German core.

The U.S. military is now a jobs program for many folks and it's a way for immigrants to get their green cards.
