Actor Steve Buscemi is OK after he was punched in the face by a man on a New York City street, his publicist said Sunday.

The 66-year-old star of “Fargo” and “Boardwalk Empire” was assaulted late Wednesday morning in Manhattan and taken to a nearby hospital with bruising, swelling and bleeding to his left eye.

Buscemi is not just an actor. He’s a genuine hero. Before going into acting, Buscemi was a NYC fireman. Right after 9/11 Buscemi reported back to his old fire station. He helped with recovery efforts. No publicity. No spotlight. Just admirable behavior.

Cool story - thanks for sharing...

It appeared to be another random attack by a minority on an older white person, just ‘because’.

Dirty FBI agents take a yawn while the corrupt press passes on the issue. Sickening times...

I don’t know why anyone in NYC feels they have the privilege to NOT be punched in the face. It simply comes with the territory. NYC is like a Disneyland where you go to be attacked by random strangers.

Absolutely. You are spot on. Never in a million years would I have chosen Buscemi to play Khrushchev, but OMG...he makes it work...granted, it is a comedy, but still...

The scene with (LINK: Nikita Khrushchev (Steve Buscemi) and Marshall Zhukov (Jason Isaacs) talking about pinning unrest on Beria is hilarious! I laugh every single time I see it!

I got the distinct impression Jason Isaacs heartily enjoyed playing Marshall Zhukov!

I was conflicted about seeing this movie. I didn't think I could laugh at a comedy about a brutal dictatorship responsible for the death of millions of innocent people, but the satire of the Soviet government was priceless, and yes...I did find myself laughing at it!

If you watch family guy you could have known years ago that he is a good person, cause they run him down on there.

This also happened to actor Rick Moranis a few years back as he was walking down the street of NYC.

Agreed...sometimes not, and I always enjoy it when the appreciation of something does not dim with age or cultural changes.

With “Reservoir Dogs” I found the whole opening breakfast scene somewhat pretentious and artificial, and I didn’t recall that from the first time I saw it.

I compare it unfavorably with the first half of the movie “The Deer Hunter” (which I have found many people dislike, preferring the second half of the movie) but...I actually like the first half of the movie before they go to war, and I dislike the second half, after they go to war.

I appreciate the character development in that first half of Deer Hunter which is consistent through the rest of the movie, and in any case, I found it to be a somewhat accurate portrayal of a dying Pennsylvania steel town back in the late Sixties or early Seventies. There was something grimy and gritty that I appreciated having lived through those times, and I loved the wedding scenes. But I get why others might not like it.

Anyway, in Reservoir Dogs, that breakfast scene in the opening didn’t fit to me.

It’s an impressive trick that they could make it both truthfully horrific and funny. No mean feat in my opinion.

I agree! I never thought I could laugh at that, but...some things should be laughed at, long and loud, and Communism and Socialism are just two of those things...:)
