[history]
Wherefore art thou, Hillary Clinton? Oh ye of the great concern for stumbling upstate economies? Oh ye of ample solutions?
Back when we lived in your favorite stumping grounds, things seemed so hopeful for us. But that was thousands of jobs ago, an era that seems as distant now as the Pleistocene.

I don't know which H. L. Mencken quote best applies:
- Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard. or
- Demagogue: one who preaches doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots.

Hillary get off your duff and get these people jobs before they inflict their sorry worthless hides on the South. We don't want em.
To: Phantom Lord
You should have thought about all this BEFORE you elected her.
You stupid idiots!

Amen brother....I was there in that area and saw Hillary camapigning there, it was sickening to watch the people, mostly the women, fawn all over her, hang on every word.
The Hag had a huge bag of sugar coated goodies and those people ate it up, loved it all. The Hag knows that she can pull the same trick again and have no problem. When Hagly runs for president, and she will, those people will vote for her again. I have no sympathy for them at all, as she has no interest in them.

Upstate New York has been literally taxed to death by downstate for some time. I don't see a turnaround without secession from lower New York. The state government is run for the benefit of NYC and Lawn Guyland, with the latter getting a lot of pork during liberal Republican administrations.
Let's not forget to include Lawn Guyland when we attack what is (politically) wrong with New York. They always elected corrupt RINOs when I was a kid (remember Tom Gulotta?). In 2000, Nassau and Suffolk counties voted for GORE (although homeboy Loozio did win these counties). New Yorkers get the politicians they deserve.

Its OK. The South is already infected with brain-dead morons (Southern Freepers NOT included) who vote in Dem Governors and legislators just because Dems were the "party of Robert E. Lee." Florida didn't start electing Republicans to the state houses until the Midwesterners and Cubans started to arrive.
The South is not immune from Sheepledom. Personally, I'm thinking of going to Idaho.

I agree we have morons here, so we really are full up and don't need anymore of them. Hate to break it to you but Idaho has morons also.

Was all this artifice? Just politic posturing to nab our votes and move on down to the prime time Manhattan office where now you reign?Hey Liz--that ringing noise you hear is the CLUE PHONE; better go get it, quick.
To: MissAmericanPie
Just a quick reminder. It wasnt until "damn yankees" started moving south that republicans started getting elected in the south.
To: Phantom Lord
Get over it. You and your fellow liberal served your purpose in life, you helped elect the Great She, the future of America. Now, put some ice on it; lie back and enjoy it.

Where is Sen. Clinton when we need her?The title should tell it all - She won't be around when YOU need HER: Sen. Clinton will be around when SHE needs YOU....she does not care about you, only her own personal gains that can be gotten from the sheep duped into voting for her.
You'd think New York would finally start to get it, especially after 9/11...guess they are not quite awake to reality yet......

To be fair to Miss American Pie (a good woman from Texas, where voters are typically smarter than say, Georgia and Eastern NC)and my other southern friends, they are correct IF they are referring to transplants from New England, New York and New Jersey. The two most liberal counties in FLA (Broward and Palm Beach) are filled with transplants from New York (including my parents, only one of whom is a lib). Transplants from the Midwest seem to be the key factor in making a state more conservative.
We still have a problem throughout the South with 1. Disorganized Republican organizations and 2. Older rural voters who still have an ancestral respect for what was once the party of Jefferson. States like Georgia and South Carolina SHOULD be solidly Republican were it not for these factors.
