Of course it is. It's no different than if a robber came up to you and threatened bodily harm if you didn't turn over your money. The only difference between government and the robber is the government says it's legal.

Taxation without representation is tyranny.

Which is why I always say legal aliens (like me) should be allowed to vote. I pay 40% of my income to Uncle Sam but I am not allowed to vote on how my money is spent. (Sound familiar?)
