Terrorist can't believe many in US still "don't get it"

CAMP DELTA - Reclining comfortably on the foam mattress in his new prison in Cuba, Al Qaeda prisoner Abu Mustafaoui couldn't help shaking his head in disbelief as he spoke to members of the press for the first time.

"I heard some talking head on CNN, I think it was the sexy blonde one, say that 'if the United States loses the protection of its Constitution, then the terrorists will have already won,'" said Mustafaoui. "With all due respect to the infidel Paula Zahn, we don't consider that a 'win.'"

"Slight erosions of civil liberties are not 'wins' for us," continued Mustafaoui. "Increased wiretapping abilities? Not a win. Establishment of military tribunals? Not a win. We couldn't care less about such matters."

Mustafaoui's statement came as a shock to many Americans, who have grown accustomed to branding distasteful administrative actions with the catch-phrase, "if we allow ourselves to do this, then they will have won."

"But our Constitution is the most precious thing in America," said high-school senior Jenny Wertheimer reverently. "We are nothing if not the sum of our liberties. Isn't that what they're trying to destroy?"

"Listen, you idiots," explained Mustafaoui petulantly, "Al Qaeda wants to make the streets of America run red with the blood of the non-believers. We want to kill every man, woman and child in your country. The most beautiful sound we can imagine would be the wailing moans of all 280 million of you infidel scum slowly dying of radiation sickness. That would mean we had won.

"We hate you for not loving Allah," continued Mustafaoui, "not because you have a Constitution. What part of 'I want to kill you, you Jew-loving dogs' don't you understand?"

Experts agree with Mustafaoui.

Good and evil are as basic as it gets. Many of us do "get it". Otherwise we wouldn't have sent our people into harm's way--we would've just let the UN take care of everything.

Is the National Lampoon still in business? They were hilarious 30 years ago. They also started a lot of writers like PJ O-Rourke, John Hughes, and Jeff Greenfield.

Good parody must be at least 90% true in order to work. It's that other 10% that is the genius behind it.

I believe you meant Kaaba, but your point is understood.
Kaaba, also known as, Ka'bah, Kabah and Caaba is the center of the holiest place of worship in Islam (Submission in English), i.e. the Sacred Mosque of Mecca, Al Masjid Al-Haram. Its name means the cube in Arabic as it is a cube shaped stone structure built in the middle of the Sacred Mosque. The Kaaba was built by prophet Abraham as a landmark for the House of God ,for the sole purpose of worshipping of God alone.

Another example of the fact that even the devil can quote scripture when it suits his purposes.
How can any conscious, aware and educated person take anything seriously spoken by someone who has lived all his life lived in a country where civil liberties simply do not now nor have ever existed?

Why is this presented here unchallenged as "news"?

Dang it!
Got me again.

I sure wish these parodies did not track reality so closely...

some pretty savvy political / religious commentary from National Lampoon ... appears they "let this one slip under the wire" in hopes of waking up those who, amazingly after 9/11, truly *still* "don't get it" ...

and it would even funnier if it weren't so true ... and *not* limited to just "Al-Quaeda" ...

National Lampoon. I miss those guys and gals.

Remember the cover where the basketball cheerleaders were doing a routine and one wasn't wearing panties? For some reason, that sticks in my mind <G>

Note the last name of little "Jenny Wertheimer". Is this a play on the moral relativists and Palestinian propagandists at NPR a la Linda Wertheimer? I like to think so.
