Interesting use of Western analytical thought to rationalize Oriental behavior. It sorta comes close to the mark. But much of the article is nonsense. "This means that no real peace process is any longer possible and that Israel can expect to be under constant pressure from the Palestinians." This has been true for years, if not decades. It did not suddenly become true because there was a convergence of Pali and al Qaeda interests. The Palis have not been training suicide jihadis for a decade because they knew al Qaeda was coming. They have been preparing for total war because left-liberal Jews in Israel wanted "peace in our time".

The Palis are a mix of jihadis, Islamists, socialists, pan-Arabists, tribalists, and more. Their "strategy" derives as much from the Koran and the practical concerns of staying alive for another 24 hours amid all these competing (and deadly) interests as it does from any long-term goals.

Or as a sort of cooperative competition between Yasser and Osama.

Actually, there is only one conclusion that can be drawn if one accepts even a substantial part of Stratfor's analysis of Palestinian thinking: that Israel must remove the Palestinians completely from Israel and the West Bank. In toto, every last one of them. Send them to Jordan, to Syria, Lebanon, Algeria, Arabia, Egypt. Anywhere.

This is not a position I like, or one that I thought I would ever come to, but it may be the only alternative. And given Islam's death wish to have a war with the West, maybe sooner is better than later. Egad!
