"In a New York minute, everthing can change..."

My favorite part of that is

If you find somebody to love in this world
You better hand on tooth and nail
The wolf is always at the door

But then I remembered this, and I like it too, and it fits within our little game going here:

But men get lost sometimes
As years unfold
One day he crossed some line
And he was too much in this world
But I guess it doesn't matter anymore

Take care glorygirl

While we're on Henley, what about Heart of the Matter?

"The more I know, the less I understand
All the things I thought I knew, I'm learning again
I've been tryin' to get down to the heart of the matter,
But my will gets weak and my thoughts seem to scatter..."

"These times are so uncertain
There's a yearning undefined
...people filled with rage
We all need a little tenderness
How can love survive in such a graceless age?
The trust and self-assurance that lead to happiness
They're the very things we kill, I guess."

"The more I know, the less I understand
All the things I thought I'd figured out
I have to learn again."

Pretty bleak, but Don Henley's a prophet, if you ask me.

He also wrote a song called "The Garden of Allah," which was NOT a testament to Islam.

If you've never heard it before, read the lyrics (written around 1989). It will give you the chills.
