I thought so too! Thanks for checking it out, Angelique. I think I'll link this to that other thread we chatted on about his judicial appointments. :)

I reviewed the site. Wasn't it unanimous about the recounts, etc. during election 2000? Why Quince? The FL Supreme Court received a horrible reputation nationwide.

The first one was 7-0, the second was 4-3.

Now, what about Quince?

Very impressive bio. I, too, would have loved a staunch conservative, but that is not Jeb's style.

Referencing the commission, it could be better than just having the Governor just select an unqualifed croney. CA has some elected justices, and it was so funny when the Bird, left-wing court was ousted.

Re: "Jeb's style"

LOL...now, Angelique, I know you and I have debated this before up to a point! :)

But, I must add something to your comment above, as I believe Gov. Bush's style IS to appoint a highly qualified, wide range of people to the bench -- and, such a wide range of course includes:

staunch conservatives Christians, as evidenced here --

An Act of Faith?

I thought this was good news as well, re: Jeb's judicial appointments:

I just read your thread about women being appointed to the Bench, and being honored by the Women's Bar Assoc. Brilliant. Good luck Reno.

LOL...yeah, good luck Reno! I noticed they passed her up for an award. Also, Angelique, I hope you read that article inmy post #29 too. Maybe you did! (Re: the Christian conservative female judge Gov. Bush appointed) :)

We vote to retain or let Jeb appoint two new justices this fall. Was the one retiring judge one of them?

Yes, the new judge profiled in the article linked in post #29 is a conservative. And, a Christian. Like I said, gov. Bush chooses from a wide range -- and, that includes EVERYONE. :)

I only know the retiring judge was Harding. What's the issue on ballot this Nov - to retain two other FL Supreme Ct judges??? I don't know enough about it. Let's see...who would know this...
