Disgusting is right. How can the family want to exploit this childs trama to the extent of promoting a movie, book and God only know what else.
Just think of the consequences for other possible kidnapped children. Will crazy parents have their children kidnapped so they can promote them and their ordeal.

These parents are wealthy enough. They don't need to do this and perhaps cause more harm to Elizabeth, when she see the whole stinking episode of her 9 months of terror.

The Smarts are not soliciting these offers. The offers are being made to the Smarts, they're not even taking phone calls from Hollywood. Their spokeman, Chris Thomas, has fielded hundreds of calls, and hasn't returned any either, yet. He says it it too early to decide whether or not to have a movie, that Elizabeth needs to get well.

Oy vay, one more time. The movie is going to happen. If it were me, I'd want to have some control over it so it doesn't make my poor daughter's life worse.
