Maybe ABC can replace her with the Dixie Chicks?

Following is the email I sent ABC:

I am concerned that ABC is considering producing a sitcom featuring Janeane Garofalo. Ms. Garofalo has been an outspoken opponent of our president and the effort of our troops in the present war in Iraq. She has, during several television appearances, made statements so inflammatory as to be construed deeply offensive by those whose lives are on the line in the effort to topple a crazed dictator who threatens world peace.

Ms. Garofalo is entitled to get up in our free society and make whatever statements she wishes, offending whomever she wishes. It is the blood of brave soldiers, sailors, and Marines that have secured this for her. However, when she espouses beliefs contrary to those consistent with the efforts made by our country in time of war, I will exercise the veto power of my remote control and my wallet. If your network produces and airs any regular program featuring Janeane Garofalo, I will boycott ABC, its affiliates, and any sponsors of said program. I will also urge others to do the same.

There is no time limit on this. Ms. Garofalo and her ilk have insulted my country for the last time as far as I am concerned, and I will not tolerate her presence on my television screen for any purpose other than rendering a sincere apology.

There's another thread with the crawling quote and the address of her agent. http://www.gershcomedy.com

This site has a contact form where you can ask her agent to drop such a disagreeable client who puts you in sucha bad light. More heat!

Ditto. I saw Mizz Garbagealot on HBO some years back, and she came off as a sour, unfunny, little b#tch.

I don't know about Shandling dating Garafalo, but he definitely was dating the woman who played Darlene. She was dumped from the show when Shandling dumped her in real life. The Larry Sanders Show is one of the best television series ever.

If anyone wants to see the Brian Kilmeade / Garafalo slugfest
in full, go to foxnews.com, register as a foxfan, and go
to their archives.

It's just FANTASTIC! Kilmeade is a hero!

Gee, her lack of comment couldn't have anything to do with today being "National Gay Rights Day of Silence," could it? ;-)

I'm all for it! Let's propose a "National Gay Rights Decade of Silence"! It would be tough for them since there mouths are always busily doing one thing or another.

A sitcom about an ultra-liberal deciding what is newsworthy? We laugh because it's sad. We laugh becuase it's true.

It'll get boffo ratings though because they've signed the recently unemployed Baghdad Bob to write it.

Maybe she'll move to a country that resembles the Soviet Union. Then when she goes into her "Russia... wot a country!" schtick, she can see the KGB rush the stage to throw her in the salt mines.

I seem to remember her saying something about if there was WMD in Iraq she'd personally deliver roses to the Whitehous. I hope she's bought her ticket.

Have they found any yet?

We'd already decided a while back to never watch ABC again, Barfalo or no Barfalo.

This probably explains why her most memorable role is where she played a character that talked to a bowling ball.

Janeane Garofalo was pretty much driven off the cast aturday Night Live" (she was on that show for half a season, 1994-1995.) Read "Live From New York"--the cast despised her (even Paul Simon, who performed once on the show when she was on it, thought she was a ninny and a pain in the butt.) She would order scripts to be rewritten if she thought they were sexist or racist; she said that she wanted the show to be disrupted by "ACT-UP" because the show was so horrible to her. She's an ass.
