I'm of the opinion that it was canceled because he was getting far too pro-war and militant for the suits at HBO. You apparently didn't catch his latest special on this past Saturday night. My favorite quote:
"...I realize that Clinton was a popular President but it's time for him and his fat wife to go away and shut the f*** up!"

HBO is still airing it. You can tune in tonight at 11 and watch.

kudos to you!

Wow! I missed most of this show.... will have to catch a rebroadcast. It seemed to me that the audience was not exactly in synch with what Miller was saying though.

I enjoyed most of the Dennis Miller special, right up until he made the remark about the Constitution being an out of date old parchment that needs to be updated, and that in this day and age, nobody needs to own a gun.

I cancelled HBO about 14 years ago, when the kid shows on Sunday morning were anti-gun anti-hunting shows. Their slant has always been to the left.
I will not support them with one dime. I generally keep away from all Hollyweird productions of late.
Its tough when there are so many dopy scumbags in the entertainment media.

Many people are supporting the two nitwits not because they agree with their politics, but because the whole situation was handled so badly. It's not like those two had seemed moderate before they were invited.
Even the head of the HOF says that the whole situation was his fault because of poor decision making.
To: jonalvy44
Why would you be surprised about Costas at this point?
To: jonalvy44
Welcome to the club. HBO spits out at least one piece of left-wing propaganda a month. I gave up supporting it quite a while ago.
To: SMEDLEYBUTLER
Yeah, but they're not new eps.

I know a guy who says that sometimes America has it's faults.
He also said that he drank a Budweiser once in college.
No more Anhauser-Busch products for me! Ever.

that was a good one...not.

Not to belabor the point, but there's a good chance the guy had 'x' number of specials as part of his contract--after all, they did replace him with, *snicker*, Bill Maher.

I cancelled the Showtime package (what a joke that was) and was going to replace it with HBO until I heard of Bill Mahars show going there.
I'll be damned if I'm going to support a commie-pinko-fag like him or Costas!

The situation was handled somewhat badly, but I don't think the HoF dissed them because of their political views. They did it because Mr. and Mrs. Sarandon have a long history of spouting their political views in nonpolitical forums, even when asked not to do so.

The major reason that I subscribed to HBO was the fights. I always liked boxing and I grew up in the fifties watching the Friday Night Fights with my grandfather. But rarely does one get to see a good fight anymore, and when you do get to see a good fight, the decision is usually ludicrous, particularly with the fights shown on HBO. A few months ago, I decided to subscribe to the Starz Package and compare it to my HBO subscription. I found out how little use that I had for HBO and dropped it. I've been HBO free for four months and I have no regrets. I've been CNN free for years (another AOL company) and I certainly am glad of that. I think one can have a very high quality of life without putting any money in the AOL Time-Warner coffers.

Why would anyone subscribe to H-BO in the first place? Most of its scheduling is junk entertainment and boring yuppie movies.
My discretionary money goes to FR and the Salvation Army, not to feeding the hands that bite me.

Yeah. But it does appear he is having a slow awakening. Given time he may examine his other reflexive views.
