Hello, folks.

To update my condition, I'll be starting the chemical treatments on August 8.
This is not the standard FDA approved chemical, Interluken II. I looked at this drug and decided I'd rather take my chances with the experimental drugs. They have less side effects and better test results.
The total length of these trials varies, but I'm hoping for less than a year.
I'm not supposed to be as sick with these treatments as with Interluken, but everyone responds differently.

Any decision you make about your medication/treatment is A-okay with me. And from the sounds of things, August 8th it shall be. Don'tcha just love it when I get poetic? Yeah, I know. Keep my day job.

I sure didn't know that it would take almost a year...that is a while, but then again, I guess it will take a while for the muscle and tissue to grow on the titanium rod...

Just hang in there, Cowboy...we are all still here. Are you planning on staying in California for all of the treatments, or would they let you continue them at home?

Glad to "see" you posting, TC! You are in our prayers every day here. I think you made a good decision. My friend made that decision (to go with experimental chemo, in her case octriotide [sp?], and not the traditional) back when the docs gave her around 3 months to live. Well, she got 5 quite good years out of it!! She had liver cancer. She was also a Texan! You make them strong down there!

We will not stop our prayers.

And it is our delight, O God, to see such love between Texas Cowboy and little Logan ... surely You have brought them to us for reasons that shall stretch far into eternity ... but of this we are certain ... the Cowboy was there for the Termite in his hours of need, and now the boy and his family are here for their beloved friend, cheering him on to the fullness of health.
