Magnetic field reversal? Isn't that what caused the flooding in "Waterworld"? (maybe the other person in America who saw that movie is a FReeper).

The earth is only 6,000 years old. Obviously this study was funded by Moscow. I want some real news!

Interesting post. The last time I read a report on ice core analysis, it was reported that increased levels of co2 corresponded with thicker ice layers, contradicting the global warming hysterics.

This notation appears on the graphic and in the text:
A period between ice ages known as Stage 11, which occurred about 450,000 years ago, is of particular interest because the Earth's orbit at that time is believed to have been very similar to its orbit today.
Would you happen to know how the similarity of Earth's present orbit to a prior period's orbit is determined?

...while high carbon dioxide and methane levels indicate periods of global warming. Gosh. You mean there have been periods of global warming prior to now? Must have been those previous civilizations and their nasty, dirty industries.

Weren't some naysayers complaining this core shouldn't be exposed to our air as it might release all sorts of ancient viruses? Yikes, get the plastic sheeting and duct tape ready.

It could give us our best picture of what today's climate would be like without man-made pollution or global warming, says Eric Wolff of the British Antarctic Survey. What a crock!
