Oh wow. Another toilet bowl full of wisdom from the play-pretend-for-a-living crowd.

So when she was over here visiting family earlier in the summer, Kingston started reading The Independent's coverage of the war in Iraq and was reminded what the phrase "a free press" really means.

So, it's only a "free press" if it agrees with her opinion.

Lemme guess...she doesn't have responses to criticisms to her views...she doesn't know what to say...so she feels repressed.

While Alex is getting faux "down and dirty" on her movie sets, American and British troops are doing the real thing on her and German hubby's behalf in far more difficult circumstances.

What a phony!

"The Bush administration may think it's always absolutely right"

So, would you rather have an administration that thought what they were doing was wrong and went ahead and did it, anyway? What a stupid comment.

I'm sure she also loves the balance ot the BBC.
If I had so many concerns about a country I would.....LEAVE.
But of course the ex Mrs. Fiennes will throw her principles to the wind in order to stuff her pockets with all those US dollars.

This woman has no problem taking our money and living in our country but her "morality" is challenged by the fact that our schoolchildren say the Pledge of Allegiance?

In addition, she is livid about the McCarthyite witch-hunting of anyone who dares voice criticisms of the US President. "It frustrates me," Kingston asserts. "And it's not just because I'm European - thousands of Americans share the same frustrations. A comic called Bill Maher hosted an irreverent current-affairs talkshow called Politically Incorrect, where celebs would come on and discuss topical subjects. In one edition, he wanted to provoke a debate, so he said that while the terrorists who had hijacked the planes on September 11 were many things, they weren't cowards. His show was instantly axed, and Maher lost his livelihood. Isn't he allowed to make an inflammatory statement in order to get a reaction?"

It's called commercial television. The producers were afraid that this kind of thing would drive away viewers and then sponsors, so they axed him. Personally, I think it was a bad decision, but it wasn't censorship (only the government can censor). It's free enterprise. He was perfectly free to say what he did, and his employers were perfectly free to fire him for it. Or to keep him on.For the time being, Kingston's only worry is the patriotism that is foisted on youngsters in America. "In most schools there," she sighs, " children have to recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag every morning. That stunned me because young children won't know what they're saying. They should be allowed to choose whether or not to say it. I remember people used to laugh about the Chinese making their children do that, but what they do in American schools is surely not that different."

No one laughed about the Chinese making their children pledge allegiance to their country. I'd expect it. What they laugh at was that the Chinese are forced to say that their country is free, when it isn't.

bodecia killed a lot of romanized brits and slaughtered most of those living in London...yup, a good role model for OSammie ben laden... but the PC would rather praise a mass murderess than try to understand why the average American wants his kids to be thankful we don't live under a dictatorship of ubermensch who think they are better than the rest of us...

But the events that developed caused dreadful bloodshed. Boadicea by default following the death of her husband, became their queen. She planned revenge. Britain was being run by a force of about 20 to 25 thousand Romans comprising 4 legions. About half comprising the Fourteenth and Twentieth legions, who were with Suetonius in Chester or Wales. The Second legion in Gloucester and the Ninth in Lincoln. Camulodunum ( Colchester ) .

This was to be the first target of Boadicea and her force. Colchester was the seat of Roman religion and authority. The British who had been living in the area had been forcibly ejected from their homes and farms by the Romans and must have supported this action. There were no survivors. Everybody was killed who had any Roman leanings. It is thought about 15 thousand people were massacred that day.

The ninth infantry hearing of the slaughter, immediately proceeded towards Colchester, only to meet the Britons marching to meet them. The Roman legion of about 5 thousand men were simply over-run by force of numbers and all were killed apart form their commander Petilius Cerialis, who escaped with his cavalry. When Suetonius heard of the massacre of his legion, he immediately rode to London with a small cavalry force. He sent a message to the Second legion in Gloucester to march with haste to meet up with him. The commander after hearing of the sacking of Colchester refused to comply. His refusal left Suetonius in an impossible situation. He had to make a military decision quickly.

Under the circumstances, he decided to leave London to its own fate. He knew it was futile to try and stop Boadicea without adequate forces, so he withdrew and rejoined his men in the west. The carnage and death was inevitable and followed in the same manner as Colchester. 30 to 40 thousand people lost their lives in London. If this had not been enough, Boadicea turned her sights on Verulamium ( St Albans ), a large trading centre. As in Colchester and London, everything and everybody who had any affiliation with the Romans was killed or destroyed. All in all it is calculated that somewhere between 50 to 70 thousand people died following the death of Boadicea's Husband.

Maybe I missed it,but I have yet to see any example of anyone being punished for anything they said,no matter how stupid or purposely inflammatory.Doesn't the mere fact that that oaf Tim Robbins complaining about being censored is carried on almost every T.V news outlet disprove that?I feel a chill wind of smoke being blown up our collective a***s.Shut up you whining, elitist half wits!!

If she wants to critically examine parallels between the US and ancient Rome, she need look no further than her next Hollywood party. This Vestal virgin must be drinking water carried in lead pipes.

Boy, this hacks me off. The Boudica saga is an amazing story that has never really been told in film, and that they use it as a bloody club to beat Bush about the head with, to style him as Nero, a man who dressed whores as his mother, assassinated his wife, and burned Christians at the stake. Yup, that's my Dubya! Great laffs.

Damn. Boudica wasn't an entirely sympathic person (what she did with the Roman women of London and iron poles need not be gone into), but she deserves better than this.

The only problem is that Osama and crowd would kill Kingston in a second and want to force a woman hating, gay hating, Jew hating, freedom killing, violent and sadistic brand if Islam on the entire world. Wonder how she feels about wearing a burka.

Is she a citizen? Funny, the article doesn't mention it.

Is Mr. Alex a citizen? Funny, the article doesn't mention it.

What happens when Baby Alex goes to school in the U.S.? Don't answer that one.

Where are her examples of government censorship? Oh, I forgot...never mind....

What cheap, self-aggrandizing (with a "Z," thank you very much) CRAP!

I see you left out the part about the Romans invading her homeland, betraying and murdering her husband, raping her daughters, and nearly beating her to death.
