Are you saying that Rahab's profession prevented the presence of flax on her roof? This sounds fascinating. Please expand upon your initial statement.

Rahab is the only one described in her house, and initially she is called a harlot. And somebody in the powers that be, was watching her place closely enough, they knew these two men had gone into her place of business.

There had to be a whole lot of flax drying on her roof to hide two grown men. So which is it, she was a hooker or she was in the flax business?

Her house could have been the house her family lived in, her father could have been in the flax business....

" Rahab is the only one described in her house "

Really ?
I never heard that before, all I can remember is ?
when Joshua came with his men and saw the red cord in her window, Rahab AND her family were saved...
I don't know what Bible you were reading from , but, this is what is says....

Joshua chapter 6 verse 17 - King James Bible...
17. And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

Joshua chapter 6 verse 17 NIV ...

17 The city and all that is in it are to be devoted [a] to the LORD. Only Rahab the prostitute [b] and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent.

Joshua chapter 6 verse 17 the message Bible...

17 "Except for Rahab the harlot—she is to live, she and everyone in her house with her, because she hid the agents we sent.

Joshua chapter 6 verse 17 ... The Amplified Bible....

17. And the city and all that is in it shall be devoted to the Lord [for destruction]; only Rahab the harlot and all who are with her in her house shall live, because she hid the messengers whom we sent.

Through out the whole bible, spanning 1500 years, over 40 writers,,, there is a thin red thread, or line....
The passover, the door posts and lintel shall have lambs blood on it, and the angle of the LORD will passover that house...
The house in Rahabs case,,, the house that had the red cord hanging from the window was " SAVED " ... " SALVATION " from destruction...
It's a sign, it represents salvation, Joshua was considered a fore shadow of a type of Christ...
When GOD sees the blood of Christ applied to our hearts, he will pass over, or shall we say, our sins are washed away, and GOD will forget them as far as the east is from the west...
How a book, can have over 40 writers, in different cultures ( they didn't have the Internet back then, or modern communications ) different times, over 1500 years with a reacquiring theme in it ?
How can the whole bible be in some way, correspond with the rest of the bible ?
If man kind were to gather all the great scientific minds, human resources, fiances, and plot and plan a book like the bible, it would be totally impossible for man kind in his intellect to write a book like it.....

So she 'worked at home'. What, she can't have two jobs?
