I am not buying into if / then statements for the sake of making your point. We all know what is meant by "religion".

No we all do not know what is meant by "religion". I am not 'selling' anything. God repeatedly used the word IF as in a requirement as to what would follow. IF His people did or did not hearken to Him and His WORD then this or that would surely follow. I used the word IF as in what is worldly branded regarding the nature of all religions.

This article is regarding archaeology supporting the Bible. And then goes on to attempt to dilute Scriptural claims as though they are of knowledge and higher intellect as to entering what their findings literally mean. From the Garden Party onward there has always been somebody on the scene denying, diluting, or disparaging the WORD.

"religion" is man's way that man thinks how he ought to come to GOD, or man's formalities in how he should approach GOD...
The GOD of Israel is not like that, no matter how righteous a man thinks he is, man still falls short to GOD's standards of holiness and righteousness...
Religion is the broad and wide road ( many paths to GOD ), or man's idea in how to get to GOD that Jesus was talking about when he said in Mathew chapter 7 verses 13-14

13. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. "

Religion is where people will pray, and say and do good things, honor GOD with their lips, actions, deeds, but, their hearts are far from GOD.....

God wants a relationship with his people...

The LORD Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to come to GOD, that is only GOD's only way to come to GOD..
Jesus Christ said " I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE, no man can come to the father, but, by me " .....
