About the Contest
In an effort to help promote New Yorks All Day Confessions event, happening Monday April 18th, The Diocese of Brooklyn in conjunction with both the Archdiocese of New York and Diocese of Rockville Centre have launched a grassroots digital campaign called i-Confess. Using both social and digital media, the goal of this campaign is to generate interest in the act of Confession.
The subject matter of the Film must focus upon encouraging school children and young adults to attend confession, MUST specifically mention, reference and provide information about the Reconciliation Monday, April 18, 2011, and MUST direct the viewers to www.i-confess.com. Films will be judged based upon the following criteria:
- orthodoxy
- ratings the film receives on YouTube between the posting date and 12:00 AM on May 7, 2011
- overall artistic quality
Prior to 12:00 AM on April 19, 2011, the Filmmaker must upload his/her completed Film to the designated Contest Upload page at: www.i-confess.com. Only qualifying videos will be posted to the Producers YouTube account.
Read more here and here. Click video to view.
TOPICS: Activism; Catholic; Moral Issues; Religion & Culture
KEYWORDS: catholic; confession; sacraments
Here's the
link to all of the qualifying videos to date.
A couple others I thought were good (I have not seen them all):
Go be forgiven
Be reconciled to God
There are a bunch more (87 at current count), but the one I featured at the top of this post really impressed me for getting the job done. In fact, after sending it to my 20-year-old daughter, she wrote back with only one line:
"wow! that gave me the chills! that was awesome! well made"

And although this movie is not directly about Confession, it somehow fits into this scheme:
Liv, by Joshua Weigel, who also produced
Butterfly Circus.

Thanks so much for commenting. I was starting to think no one had read this post or viewed the cool video. But I see my effort in posting was not for nada. :)
I'll check out John Paul the Great Catholic University. Thanks again.
