I don't see many [liberals] who once seemed to advocate this saying this now.
They may say that A&E has a right to protect its brand and thus suspend him indefinitely - and this may very well be true.
But even so, why not ALSO say what they say (when it comes to fellow liberals saying things) - that we should defend to the death his right to say this?
They can do/say both, right?
Maybe the old, die-hard liberals are gone, or have become hypocrites...

Back when “liberal” meant liberal, rather than fascist, liberals held by Voltaire’s dictum about disagreeable opinions. That strain of liberalism now lives on in America only among American conservatives, libertarians and the vanishingly few leftish folk who call themselves “civil libertarians” (Nat Hentoff comes to mind). American “liberals” are the heirs of Robespierre, not of Voltaire.
It's offensive to libs that a guy like Phil Robertson can speak his mind on homosexuality yet have a massive fanbase (who probably agree with him).
I hope the rest of the family tells A+E to get bent. They certainly have the money to do so. Guaranteed, they'll be begging him to return if it looks like they're about to lose their #1 hit show. It is show "business" after all.
We can play the same game as the liberals play. It's easy. Just threaten to boycott all of A+E's advertisers until they apologize for his suspension and invite him to return. Then we'll see whose money they value more.
The liberals, sexual deviants and atheists have taken intolerance in this country to a whole new level never seen before anywhere on the planet.

It is still America and A & E can promote whatever agenda they wish, and it seems to be the homosexual agenda!
It's obvious the Robertson's are not in sync with that agenda but they do know their Bible and what God clearly dictates about whom will be with Him in His Kingdom (only those who are forgiven for their vile sins by the blood of Jesus) and Phil spoke the truth.
The Lord didn't say that we would be loved for quoting His word, nor for loving Him. In fact He said "They hate you because they first hated Me."
Phil Robertson is in the right company, not with A & E but with the Lord.
Now, those of you out there who are fans of Duck Dynasty can let A & E know that you aren't happy they have taken away one of its stars for quoting the Holy Scriptures, not for making "anti-gay statements."
Let them know it is God, that made those statements and you agree with Him!
There are other forms of entertainment that doesn't promote the gay agenda, find it.

Expecting the fruity A&E network to do anything else today is like expecting sharks not to get hungry when they smell blood. They will never do the cool thing, I mean come on. The duck guy had to realize this, he worked with them for years. So it is to his credit that honesty is the way he went.

The Duck Dynasty families should just move on without A&E. A&E certainly needs them more than they need A&E. I don’t think they would really give $.02 worth a damn if the show didn’t go on. That group didn’t seek fame, it found them. They’d do just fine without all the cameras and glamor.
A&E stumbled into a wholesome, real American Values based show. Now that they have accidentally published some vein of those Values which they despise, they need to kill it. Oddly, I don’t know what was offensive about what was said. He expressed his confusion and made a statement about his religious belief. There was nothing hateful about any individual that I know of.
They should tell A&E to get off their property and to take all their equipment with them.
