But the reasons for Hollywood's recent embrace of the Bible vary from seeing the good book as a vehicle for great storytelling to a more deliberate purpose of using the powerful medium of film to spread a religious message.

Mark Burnett, producer of the "Son of God," said he expects the film "to be a conversation starter" ... some principals may not have imagined. "The disciples didn't know they were going to end up in the Bible," he said. "They were merely following Jesus."

For the movie, SON OF GOD, they deleted the scene that showed the devil’s face, which WAS shown in the series. Satan will NOT get a facial part in the SON OF GOD. THAT is as it should be!

“Son of God” is not a new movie. It is selected scenes from the really bad “Bible” mini-series that came out last year.
It takes all kinds of liberties with scripture and actually puts words in Jesus mouth that he never said. I didn’t care for the mini-series at all. It got a lot of publicity though and made a lot of money, so the producers want more. EWTN has really been promoting the movie, I guess because Roma Downey is a Catholic and Raymond Arroyo likes her. But the movie has no Catholic technical advisors. Downey said she is grateful that the movie got favorable ratings from Joel Osteen and Rick Warren. She also cited Cardinal Donald Wuerl as giving it a thumb-up.. So if Osteen and Warren and liberal Cardinal Wuerl think it’s a great movie, that should tell anyone that believes in the Bible to stay away from it. Fox News has also been touting it. Cafeteria-Catholic Sean Hannity to be precise.

I don’t like Obama

But putting a photo which looks like him was antagonistic and wrong.

Another thing the devil does not have a body and never will he is an evil spirit or should we a form of substance.

So appropriate. It is an exact replica of the demonic “one” in the White House.
God never sleeps.

Just read the article

Sacred, secular inspiration

The theatrical release of “Son of God” has its roots in the hugely popular 2013 TV miniseries “The Bible.” http://www.history.com/shows/the-bible/videos Both are the creation of reality-show pioneer Burnett and his wife, actress Roma Downey, who portrays Mary, the mother of Jesus, in both projects. Downey is no stranger to faith-based themes, having originated the role of “Monica,” an angel who intervenes in earthly situations in “Touched by an Angel,” a drama series that ran for nine seasons on CBS.

Diogo Morgado, the Portuguese actor who portrayed Jesus in “The Bible” miniseries returns to the same role in “Son of God.” During a recent screening of the film in Washington, D.C., Downey and Burnett said the idea for the movie began when they were filming the miniseries, and additional scenes were shot specifically for the movie.

“As we were shooting ‘The Bible,’ we knew there was another story in here,” Downey said, with that story ending up as the new movie.

“Son of God” will be followed by the March 28 opening of “Noah,” starring Russell Crowe as the title character

America threw Jesus out decades ago. They replaced him with an idol known as secular humanism. We have tortured to death, 1.5 million unborn souls, annually. We have given our schools to fornicators and homosexuals. We have squeezed the toothpaste out of the tube. There is no turning back. God will have His day with us.

Jer 17:4: And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.

A "movie" or two about the Bible means nothing. Not in light of what we've done.

No Catholic scholors or theologians had anything to do with the movie. The protestant “experts” that helped them out with the mini-series and movie were Joel Osteen and Rick Warren and a few academics, probably left-wingers.

Downey and Burnett wanted to stay as true to the content in the Bible as possible so they put together a wide variety of pastors and academics to review the script and filming. For example, they worked with Pastors Joel Osteen and Rick Warren and academics such as Craig A. Evans and Mark Goodacre.[14]

As of March 25, 2013, The Bible series has been watched by over 80 million viewers during its first three installments.[15] The show has been the number one downloaded TV show in iTunes and ranked number 2 on Amazon’s best sellers in movies and TV.[15] The Bible will have a theatrical release containing “recut scenes and extra stuff” from the record breaking television event and could be released as early as this fall.[16] The Bible has been nominated for the 2013 Primetime Emmy Award, Outstanding Miniseries or Movie.

We're already seeing the collapse of America. He's giving the country over to our enemies as we speak. Mexicans. Ragheads. Communists. Welfare leeches. Homosexuals. You think all this is coincidence? Sacrifice without obedience is meaningless.

1 Sam 15:22-23: Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.

If you want to check out a recent movie where the dialog is almost word for word taken from scripture, I recommend the Gospel of John. It came out about the time as Passion of the Christ and was basically overlooked. To me it is better than the Mel Gibson movie and light-years better than the Roma Downey Bible mini-series.

http://www.amazon.com/The-Gospel-John-Henry-Cusick/dp/B0006Q93ZG

The Gospel of John is, in my humble opinion, the best Biblical-based movie since The Gospel According to St Matthew. The Gospel of John was filmed in Toronto using unknown actors and a British director. The intent of the Producers was to present the text of the book with no embelishments or viewpoints, letting the words speak for themselves and leaving the viewer to draw their own conslusions. The film accomplished this beautifully. The result is a powerful presentation that, while three hours long, seemed to fly by. I never got bored or tired, and felt like I had been there 2 hours or less.
Sadly, it gets mediocre reviews from the “sophisticated” reviewers who cannot appreciate the simple beauty and power of the words as written by John without the aid of post-modern interpretation.
