I understand the popular meme, some of them giving the Magi names and citing the speculative “We Three Kings” song. The kings reference comes from a psalm and gets associated with the Magi by a speculation, whose plausibility is suggested by the sheer value of the gifts. The truth might be some blend of these facts, such as the Magi going to present gifts on behalf of kings who needed to stay behind and reign. But “We Three Ambassadors” doesn’t work in the song, so nobody has altered it according to such theories.
