God is the superintendent. He is sovereign. Perhaps you were thinking of the kind of genome we see in people TODAY. Not the kind God created. Or, perhaps you were thinking that God is not in control of His creation.
In other words, when some scientific findings can be very selectively interpreted so as to appear to give slight support to the Biblical creation story (which is allegory, and not intended to be literally true), then Science is good. But then if something in the Bible baldly contradicts commonsense and Science, a wizard did it.
