He Called Pope Francis a Dictator. Now Francis Proves Him ‘Wrong’ by Punishing Him.

First, would you please remind our readers of the main thesis of your book, The Dictator Pope?

The thesis of my book is, basically, that the cardinals in 2013 elected Jorge Bergoglio without knowing what sort of man he was. That he was in fact a prelate who represented some of the most corrupt aspects of the Latin American Church. Or that he had always shown himself not so much a churchman as a politician, and a life-long follower of the Argentinian dictator Perón. That he has deceived the Church by a false image of amiability and liberalism. And that his reputation as a reformer is a fraud. He in fact governs the Church in a political and dictatorial style such as none of his predecessors conceived of.

I’ve read in news reports that because of this book, you’ve been expelled from the Order of Malta. Can you please share with us how the Order informed you of this? What justification did they give?

I was first suspended in March 2018, pending a judicial procedure to decide upon my expulsion. Two weeks ago I received a letter from the Grand Chancellor with a decree of the Grand Master. It announced that the Order had decided to cut through the procedure, skipping the hearing before a tribunal to which it was supposed to lead, and to expel me by simple fiat. The decree also falsely states that my expulsion was voted for unanimously by the Sovereign Council. In fact it was not submitted to the Council’s decision at all. The justification given is, of course, that my criticism of Pope Francis is incompatible with my membership of the Order.

Please tell our (mostly evangelical) readers a bit about the Order, its history, and the recent changes imposed upon it by Pope Francis.

If Henry Sire Had Distributed Condoms to the Poor, He’d Still Be in the Knights of Malta Right Now

He’s Henry Sire, a conservative, upper-class Catholic from England. He’s an Oxford-educated chap who’s written a number of books about the Catholic Church, most recently, “The Dictator Pope” about the current Bishop of Rome. He’s was previously in the Knights of Malta (an international fraternity of aristocratic and/or rich Catholics who provide medical care and trips to Lourdes for sick people). He wrote authorized books about the K of M, before they kicked him out because of “The Dictator Pope.”

Pope Francis is a metastatic dictatorial Marxist cancer on my church. I pray my church survives this cancer.

Yes, he’s a really terrible pope — probably the worst in centuries. By any reasonable view, he’s nothing but a catastrophe. At this point, the question isn’t whether his papacy will do lasting damage to the Church but only the magnitude of that damage. Pray that God has mercy on Pope Benedict. Dante imagined Pope Celestine in hell for the damage he did by resigning.

Likewise Francis punished conservative Cardinal Burke by stripping him of most of his responsibilities and sending him off to lead the Knights of Malta. When he did his job and disciplined a Bishop who was distributing birth control in direct contradiction to church teaching on it, he was kicked out of the K of M and replaced by that very same Bishop.

Francis is a repugnant, vindictive man who dresses himself in sack cloth and pretends to be pious and humble. He's a phony of the highest order, a man who holds the faith he leads in contempt and seeks to turn it on it's ear to suit his own feeble mind. If he were just a leftist, I'd dislike him for that but sigh and hope his successor would improve. But the abject phoniness, the pure meanness of him, the arrogance as he brushes aside the sex scandals with an abrupt "no comment" and then pretends to be a meek and loving man who doesn't have a judgmental bone in his body makes me view him as something akin to a sociopath. He makes me wonder if the church he is recrafting in his own malevolent image is one I can feel at communion with. He is truly a wolf in sheeps clothing and probably a pederast (certainly he's shown himself to be heavily invested in maintaining the freedom of priests to molest at will without fear of retribution of any sort when even the world cries out).

Other than that, he's a fine Pope.

Everything you say is true. If the media were good and decent and honest, they’d be having a field day with this disastrous papacy. Instead, they run interference for him and rarely run negative stories. Why? Because the media accurately perceives that (a) he’s a leftist fellow traveler on all their pet issues: climate change, migrants & marxism; (b) he rejects or ignores Church teaching on sexual morality; and (c) he’s doing such a good job destroying the Church that they’re just stepping aside and letting him do his thing.

Wait until Labour takes control of the UK government. (Not that the Tories are much better)

He is a disaster for the church, and a terrible person. The fact that the media defends him is all you need to know.
