I heard T. W. Hunt say that the temptations of Christ occurred not to show that Jesus could be tempted, but to show that as God he could not be.

I believe Hunt also said that the third temptation on the mountain was effectively an offer to immediately end the world’s suffering. No small temptation.

Hmm. Strictly speaking, would logic lend itself to evil? Interesting question.

Isn’t it interesting that Satan cites Scripture to the Creator and Savior. Satan does it to paint the Lord into a corner.
