"Leading our nation through its darkest periods proved to be a nearly unbearable burden on both men, yet each is celebrated. Despite very different upbringings and theological backgrounds, it was a common faith in God that sustained them through the lowest points.

Washington and Lincoln spoke publicly and wrote extensively about their faith and the role of religion in a free society. Ironically, today some attempt to use the Constitution written at a convention over which Washington presided to exorcise all references to faith from the public square, ban the faithful from public office, and relegate religious liberty to the smallest corner of the American mind never to be spoken or lived outside houses of worship. In 1789, Washington addressed the General Committee representing the United Baptist Churches of Virginia, but the prescience of his words speaks to the attacks on religious liberty today:

GEORGE WASHINGTON SAID: "If I could have entertained the slightest apprehension that the Constitution framed by the Convention, where I had the honor to preside, might possibly endanger the religious rights of any ecclesiastical Society certainly I would never have placed my signature to it; …I beg you will be persuaded that no one would be more zealous than myself to establish effectual barriers against every species of religious persecution."

At the close of the Revolutionary War, George Washington sent a message to every governor: "I now make it my earnest prayer that God would have you, and the State over which you preside, in his holy protection ... that God would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind, which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion, and without an humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy nation."

During the height of the Civil War in 1863, Abraham Lincoln issued a formal proclamation, creating the first annual National Day of Thanksgiving. That proclamation is focused on to whom Americans should be grateful as opposed to what they should be grateful for:

Lincoln stated: "I do, therefore, invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens ... (it is) announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations are blessed whose God is the Lord. It has seemed to me fit and proper that God should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged, as with one heart and one voice, by the whole American people."

PRAYER:
Almighty God we praise you for your loving faithfulness to each of us and this nation. We are thankful you have heard our prayers to intervene bringing full acquittal for President Trump to end this amoral impeachment. We continue to pray for your intervention and defense against all our national enemies foreign and domestic: “Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Thy name we give the glory. We find peace with the knowledge that greater is the Spirit of God within us through Christ, than the evil one who is in the world.”

The political Left thrives on Hate to an extreme degree.
For the past three years, this Evil ‘deep-state’ that is embedded within our government having attempted a political coup against our nation. The national print and broadcast media knowingly collaborated with the “deep state,” also within the FBI and Justice Department, releasing false narratives from the uncorroborated dossier compiled by the former British spy, Christopher Steele to discredit and discredit President Trump and his Administration. We pray for President Trump and Vice President Pence to continue to be given your strength, mental and spiritual protection. Let them clearly hear your voice of wisdom to guide them in the midst of all political noise. Help them both to stand firm with courage and resolve to govern in their appointed roles.

Preserve our nation. End the corrupt ‘deep-state swamp’ of foreign and domestic traitors selling their services to the highest bidder for their own personal wealth and prestige.
We pray for justice against these traitors to end their corrupt ‘deep state’ agenda. Restore the Constitution re-ordering our judicial and legislative governmental systems. End the complicity of national news sources acting as domestic terrorist agents spinning ‘false flags’ meant to distract, deceive, and disguise Truth from the American public. Recreate our ‘free-press’ to report truth-filled news with honor and integrity. Give Attorney General Barr supernatural clarity focus through the fog of lies & distortions. Help him discover truth to fact-find and bring to justice all corrupt agencies and individuals.

We ask your wisdom for our government to address the public need to develop medical protocol to address the potential coronavirus pandemic. Protect our military and first responders that put themselves in harm’s way to defend our nation overseas and at home. Help them address the issues of human and drug trafficking Continue to help complete the border-wall construction for our national security to reinforce the difficult work of the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement [I.C.E.]. in securing the U.S. Border.

Holy God, listen to the cries of those who pray to you. Teach us to choose your blessing of life rather than death in sin so that we might walk blamelessly. Help us share knowledge of your great love that has given us your Son Jesus Christ to save us from our sin. With acts of justice and mercy bring healing to all our wounds; making whole all that is broken; and revealing the knowledge of the power of your great love at work in the world. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Evangelical Women Pray over Trump: ‘Holy Father…We Thank You for His Courage’

At least a dozen evangelical women prayed over President Donald Trump when he made an unplanned appearance Wednesday at his hotel in Washington, DC.

Holy Father, we thank you so much for this evening. We thank you for this man of God. We thank you for his courage of standing up when others would rather stay seated.

Father, we ask you that you protect him. That you lift him up, that you give him strength and know that he must be tired at times. And we just pray that you give him power like none other. We love him, we hold him up, and we thank you. Amen.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6

3Indeed, we live as human beings,* but we do not wage war according to human standards;* 4for the weapons of our warfare are not merely human,* but they have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments 5and every proud obstacle raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ. 6We are ready to punish every disobedience when your obedience is complete.
