“Jehovah is a made up word and not the name of God”

In ancient Hebrew scripture it was spelled “YHWH” there are no vowels in that language. Th Jews called Him Yahweh. Various writers and translations over time ended up with the English translation of Jehovah. The name may be pronounced in different ways but we know who it is referring to.

Jehovah is an amalgamation of the consonants YHWH with the vowels for Adonai that were latter added to the Masoretic text and guided the reader to pronounce the latter rather the name of God. The word Jehovah in the 16th century
