Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem (4/6/24)[Prayer]

The Names and Titles of God (My Song)

Exodus 15:1-3

15 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

2 The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.

3 The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name.

The King James Version

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Excellent is Your name Over All The Earth!
We Come into Your Presence With Praise and Thanksgiving.
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Most High,
You Alone Are The One True God!

Praise the Lord!
How good it is to sing praises to You.
Let God Arise,
And His Enemies be Scattered!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Last Night, two of my sisters and I attended a wonderful Live Band/Multi-Media Presentation at The Plymouth Memorial Hall. Court Street in Plymouth is lively all year round with Tourists, Young Families, Bikers, Music Lovers, Couples, Singles, and, usually, hoards of Young People. Many Up-and-Coming Rock Acts got their start on Court Street, and, while it doesn't have the Musical Status of Beale Street in Memphis or Bourbon Street in New Orleans, the Area is famous for One Special Thing. It is where the Pilgrims landed in 1620 and the Site of the First Thanksgiving. In 2019-2020, Plymouth had planned a colossal 400th Anniversary Party that would have lasted two years, Involving the Wampanoag Tribe, and would have had Round-the-Clock Activities, Concerts, and Parades with Period Costumes and History Presentations. A lot of my friends were involved.

Then everything came to a screeching halt with the Covid Lockdown. The streets became as dark and miserable as they had been in 1620. Perhaps that was actually a better representation of that first terrible winter for the Pilgrims and their reluctant hosts.

Court Street is Up-and-Running again, and still attracts mostly the Young. This might be because the walking is difficult. The sidewalks are paved with wobbly brick to look authentic, and some of the HILLS are very steep. Nevertheless, my sisters and I go there often, to hear live music, support our friends and relatives in their musical careers, and show off our latest BOHO (Bohemian) clothing.

Since Memorial Hall is right on Court Street and surrounded by awesome restaurants, we decided to eat first and then have a leisurely walk to the Concert. The first restaurant we tried was packed to the gills with people and had a half-hour wait. The same situation existed at every Restaurant, Bar, Tavern, Bistro, and Eatery on the entire street, and we had to walk over a half-mile on the wet brick street to finally find a place to eat. Luckily it was a Thai Restaurant, and all three of us LOVE Thai Food.

We noticed that everybody in the restaurant was a Senior Citizen, and that all the people in all the other restaurants had been Senior Citizens too. Not only that, they were all dressed BOHO, just like us.

We walked back to the Hall just in time, and noticed that all the restaurants on Court Street were now EMPTY. Everybody had left and converged on Memorial Hall. It made sense. The theme of the concert was "The Sixties Show." It was Fabulous. The Band played every song in the exact original arrangements and the Audience sang every word, and even harmonized with the Music of The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, The Who, Bob Dylan, The Zombies, The Byrds, Cream, The Rascals, The Rolling Stones, The Lovin' Spoonful, The Turtles; and The Doors. The Ushers had flowers in thier hair and were dancing with Octogenarians in the aisles.

The Music of the Sixties was terrific. It took the Best of Blues, Folk, Gospel, Rock'n'Roll, and Country and infused it with Britishisms from Carnaby Street. The Lyrics were memorable, the Chords were complex, the Beats infectious, and the Melodies lyrical. To this day, my students want to learn these sixty-year-old songs. The songs are the bulk of Open Mic Nite all over New England. These were MY songs, and it thrills me that kids still want to sing them. They DEFINED my Generation.

(By the way, the Seniors were VERY Well-Behaved. The venue didn't even frisk us for weapons upon entry. Nor did anyone "light-up" in the Theater. Nobody ruined it for anybody else. Only two Plymouth Cops were in evidence. And THEY were having a good time too.)

Just as a Song can evoke vivid memories and reactions, it can sooth, comfort, and teach a lesson. Songs of Love, Anger, Peace, War, Protest, Romance, and just about everything else. A Song can unite people who otherwise disagree. It was amazing to hear a couple of thousand Senior Citizens harmonizing together on The Byrds' "Turn, Turn, Turn", which was taken nearly verbatim from the Third Chapter of the Biblical Book of Ecclesiastes. For a brief moment, all these People were united by a Song.

In the Song of Moses, God is given the Title of "My Song". The People had just crossed the Red Sea, and had been freed from slavery. At the Red Sea, the very ocean parted for them. How did they respond? By singing a Song, about God, Who IS "My Song". The Song that defined a "New Nation, conceived in Liberty, where all are created Equal." (Abraham Lincoln)

C'mon People, now,
Smile on Your Brother.
Everybody Get Together
to Love One Another Right Now.
(From "Everybody Get Together" by The Youngbloods)

"Wouldn't it be nice" if we could live by the principles of Our Song.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Blessing And Honour Unto The Lord

How blessed is everyone that trusts in You. To You and You alone be all blessing and honour, glory, might, majesty and power, for Your loving-kindness is better than life itself.

How blessed I am Father, to be Your child.

How blessed I am to have all my sins forgiven and to be imputed with the righteousness of the Lord Jesus.

How blessed I am that You are my Shepherd and my Provider. You are my Defender, my Healer and You are my all in all.

How blessed that I have been given eternal life as a free gift of grace and that You have crowned me with Your steadfast love and mercy, satisfying me with all good things and renewing my strength like that of an eagle.

May I come to know You better with every passing day, and I pray that Your abundant blessings will pour down on all that trust Your name and abide in Your love.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has indeed blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus.

Bless the Lord O my soul and all that is within me bless His holy name,

Amen.

“O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.”
(Psalm 84:12)

“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”
(Romans 8:32)

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”
(Ephesians 1:3)

Psalm 13

To the leader. A Psalm of David.

1 How long, O Lord? Will you forget me for ever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
2 How long must I bear pain* in my soul,
and have sorrow in my heart all day long?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider and answer me, O Lord my God!
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death,
4 and my enemy will say, ‘I have prevailed’;
my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.

5 But I trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
6 I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me.
