Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem (4/12/24)[Prayer]

The Names and Titles of God (God of the Covenant)

Genesis 9:8-17

8 And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,

9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

10 And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.

11 And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

17 And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
How Blessed and Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
How Magnificent,
How Holy,
How Sanctified and Glorious!
When I Awake in the Morning,
You Are There.
All through the day,
You Are With me.
And When I go to Sleep at Night,
You Are Still Watching Over Us All.
For You Neither Slumber Nor Sleep.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Amen !!! <><

Psalm 114

1 When Israel went out from Egypt,
the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
2 Judah became God’s* sanctuary,
Israel his dominion.

3 The sea looked and fled;
Jordan turned back.
4 The mountains skipped like rams,
the hills like lambs.

5 Why is it, O sea, that you flee?
O Jordan, that you turn back?
6 O mountains, that you skip like rams?
O hills, like lambs?

7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8 who turns the rock into a pool of water,
the flint into a spring of water.

For eight years, I have had to contend with a huge, hulking, leaky steel shed in my yard. It was useless for storage, because it leaked so badly that every tool left inside would rust or rot away. My first instinct was to shop for a new shed. The irony was that there was a store directly across the street, with several suitable and handsome sheds on display, so I went there first.

Their sheds were ridiculously expensive, like, five figures. Some of the sheds costs more than my Mom and Dad's first HOUSE, which was financed under the GI Bill, and taken directly out of Dad's meager paycheck back in 1952. Even the ones just barely large enough to house my Harley in the winter were well over $2000.00. I talked to the salesman, and he said that I would have to remove the steel shed first, and get rid of the giant oak tree that dominated the yard, so that the already-assembled shed could be lowered into place. (sigh). So much for that idea.

Back in 2016, I visited my beloved sister in Maine (a six-hour drive). There was a crazy store there named "Mardens" that had all kinds of bargains. I was able to purchase a heavy-duty 12' x 12' tarp that blended in with the environment (unlike a blue or green tarp). I had it professionally installed on the shed roof, with all the edges tucked in and fastened securely, so that it looked like a gray roof. It served well for several years and "passed inspection" with the property manager.

Then we got a NEW property manager, and the Tarp had to go. A kind neighbor climbed up and removed it for me, and I was back where I started. I didn't even bother to buy a lawn mower or snow blower, because they would be ruined if I kept them in the shed. If I needed to use something like that, I just borrowed one from a neighbor.

After eight years of begging, pleading, writing petitions, and complaining, I finally got the property manager to remove the oak tree. It's a good thing they did remove it, because it was rotten inside. The next big limb to fall was positioned right over my bedroom, and would have taken out both me and Tippy if it fell in the night. Not only that, but years worth of branches, leaves, acorns, and twigs were constantly building up on my roof making it look like a thatched-roof cottage. Within a few hours one morning, the big crane came in and the tree was GONE. I called my handyman and said we could work on the shed now.

The handyman came and said that the shed was not worth saving. Because of the leaky roof, the floor was totally rotted and it would cost more to fix the shed than to buy a new one. And so, I authorized him to destroy the shed and haul it away.

He arrived the next morning, and with his bare hands, tore the shed down. Then he began to rip up the rotten floorboards.

Suddenly he stopped working and rang my doorbell.

"Come out here, Mary-Lou. You have to see this."

The shed was gone, the floorboards gone, and the ground raked clean, except for a little hole. I looked in to see two baby rabbits huddled together. The mother was nowhere to be seen.

"I can't touch them. The mother might come back for them," the handyman said. I didn't know what to do. The two little bunnies were exposed to the cold. Neither the handyman nor I could "dispose" of them, because they were so adorable, yet we knew that they would soon die anyway. We have hawks, coyotes, and feral cats and I knew it wouldn't be long. Some ancient instinct, however, was kindled in both of us that prevented us from doing the killing. I know that people eat rabbit, and I'm not a vegetarian by any stretch of the imagination, and I even know that rabbits are pests and "breed like rabbits", so this reaction in both me and the handyman (both of us tough old bikers, for heavens sake!) was completely inexplicable.

I placed a plastic flower pot over the bunnies to keep out the rain and hoped the mother would return.

Today's Scripture is the Covenant God made with Noah. This was a Unilateral Covenant, as Noah didn't bring anything to the table, except a sacrificial offering. God dictates the terms of the covenant, and gives a set of rules that are not just for the Hebrews (they hadn't even been born yet), but for all humankind.

These rules involve violence, bloodshed, and the "eating of blood". In return (as a covenant has to have two parties, each getting "consideration") God promises to never destroy the entire world with a Flood. The Covenant is sealed with the Rainbow, which is the prismatic effect of the rays of the sun being broken up by the raindrops that are still in the atmosphere after the rain. It is such a gorgeous phenomenon of nature that even hardened cynical adults marvel when one appears in the sky. The rainbow, as a symbol, has been appropriated by many different groups, but this is its first appearance in Literature.

Just now, I looked out the window. There is a fresh burrow entering the flower pot. Mom has come home.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

This song is about an old friend..he is Jewish but was raised Christian as his mother was gentile.. he is one of the world’s best Luther’s. His daughter was studying in Morroco when Israel was attacked. She’s now home but he told me of the horrors from his friends. As I resurrect our old musical relationship and discuss the need to be complete..A messianic Jew..he experienced many things and is on fire for the Jewish Jesus. He is the Luther to the stars and I’ve chosen to not reveal his full name...but I know he’s picking with this song in the Sacred Wind
