A friend of mine made to to be on JEOPARDY!. As you know, I have been trying for years, but her name finally came up. She did very well, and had the highest score going into Final Jeopardy with the category:

OLD TESTAMENT.

"Ha Ha! she mused. "I'm Jewish! I'll know the answer! I'm sure glad it wasn't NEW Testament!"

She placed her bet...ALL or Nothing.

Then, after the commercial break, the Final Clue was revealed:

"These are the two books of the Torah in which The Ten Commandments are listed."

Uh Oh. She knew the first answer was Exodus, but what was that second Book? Aha! Numbers! It's got to be Numbers. After all, "TEN" is a Number, isn't it?"

And so, she carefully wrote out

"WHAT ARE EXODUS AND NUMBERS?",

and LOST Everything.

I felt so bad for her! I knew the correct response should have been WHAT ARE EXODUS AND DEUTERONOMY?",

because that's what "Deuteronomy" means...the "Second Reading."

Today's Name for God is "My Avenger".

There are at least One Hundred Verses in the Bible about taking Revenge. As far as the Commandments of God are concerned, in my opinion, ONCE is enough to make it valid, but even the Ten Commandments are given twice.

Knowing that we have an "Avenger" releases us from the onus of taking our own Revenge. It is not a denial of the injustice and evil that exist in our world. It is not a prohibition against self-defense, crime and punishment, or justice being served.

It is for us who personally have been wronged. Even if the issue is unresolved, we are not to take revenge just for the sake of "getting back" at someone.

Establishing Justice and "Getting Revenge" are two entirely different things.

Like I said, there are at least one hundred verses in the Bible about God being Our Avenger. If that's not enough, well, I hardly know what to say!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)
