Several U.K. cities balked at flying the Union Jack for the disgraced Prince Andrew’s birthday after receiving an email reminder from the prime minister’s office...Boris Johnson’s government is now reconsidering the honor. Traditionally, town halls fly the British flag to celebrate royal birthdays, but many responded to the reminder email with indignation. “We’re not flying the flag,” a Liverpool Council spokesperson told CNN. The city’s mayor, Joe Anderson, added that it “wouldn’t be appropriate” to mark Andrew’s 60th birthday on Feb. 19. The original email was standard operating procedure, but now the prime minister’s office is “considering how the policy...

Democrats have put their House majority at risk in 2020 because they have motivated President Donald Trump's base to come out and vote for him, according to Trump pollster John McLaughlin. "Yes," McLaughlin told Sunday's "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y., when asked if Democrats are in danger of losing the House. "It's likely because what they've done so far is motivated Trump voters to come back out from 2016, So, if those Trump voters come back out in 2020 that voted for him in 2016, plus if he broadens his base in 30 districts Democrats are sitting in right...

President Trump is expected to release a $4.8 trillion budget Monday that charts a path for the start of a potential second term, proposing steep cuts to social-safety-net programs and foreign aid and higher outlays for defense and veterans. The plan would increase military spending 0.3%, to $740.5 billion for fiscal year 2021, which begins Oct. 1, according to a senior administration official. The proposal would cut nondefense spending by 5%, to $590 billion, below the level Congress and the president agreed to in a two-year budget deal last summer. A White House budget reflects an administration’s priorities and represents...

In Alice Through the Looking-Glass, author Lewis Carroll created a sequel to Alice in Wonderland. Alice climbs through a mirror and enters a world beyond the one she can normally see. Everything there is reversed, just like a reflection in a mirror -- even logic itself. In this bizarre reality, running helps one remain stationary, while walking away actually brings one closer. In 2019, Harris County, Texas entered its own "looking glass," where logic and reason are similarly reversed. This new world sprang into existence as a result of a settlement in the federal class action case of ODonnell v....

Charles Pope Pass the Salt and Turn on the Lights – A Homily for the Fifth Sunday of the Year In the Gospel today the Lord describes metaphorically what a Christian is and what He expects of us. Note five things about what God says:I. The Definitiveness of His Proclamation– The text says, You are the Salt of the earth. … You are the light of the World. … But if salt goes flat it is good for nothing. … No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket. The Lord...

Perhaps the pressure is getting to him. On Sunday, Joe Biden snapped at a voter in New Hampshire, calling him (sic: her) a “lying, dog-faced pony soldier.” The dust-up came after the voter asked Biden, “How do you explain the performance in Iowa and why should the voters believe that you can win a national election?" "You ever been to a caucus?" Biden replied. After the voter said she indeed had attended a caucus, Biden shot back: "No you haven’t. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier." "You gotta be honest,” he continued. “I’m gonna be honest with you. It was...

A Good Reason for President Trump to be Angry On February 6, the Financial Times bannered a scoop under this headline: “Donald Trump ‘apoplectic’ in call with Boris Johnson over Huawei.” The argument was over the decision of the British prime minister to allow the Chinese-government-controlled tech manufacturer Huawei to participate in Britain’s next-generation cellular network, known worldwide as 5G. In other words, the United Kingdom has just made an enormous decision, full of consequences for not only the U.K., but also for the U.S. 5G, of course, is the new big thing in tech; it will accelerate the speed...

'It taught me that I was responsible for my own happiness. I didn't marry Barack for him to make me happy. No one can make me happy. . . . 'I was one of those wives who thought, "I'm taking you to marriage counseling so you can be fixed, Barack Obama." Because I was like, "I'm perfect." I was like, "Dr. X, please fix him"', she said, prompting the audience to laugh.

Here's hoping 2020 is the best year yet!! Now that he has been forever acquitted, President Trump should put the failed partisan impeachment attempt behind him, then concentrate on winning the 2020 election with wide coattails. Then bide his time as the cases against the various coup plotters wind their way through the justice system. Highest priority political items: Win the election, hold the senate, take back the house!! And then continue the work of making America great again: Build the wall, enforce the law, deport them all!! End DACA!! End sanctuary cities!! End anchor babies!! Continue cutting regulations, cutting...

Looking at the dysfunctional group of Democrat presidential candidates, Mike Bloomberg is planning, through strategically placed ads and a well-funded ground-game, to be the last man standing. His problem, though, is that he’s a bully, lacks charm and, as a recently unearthed video reveals, dislikes and disrespects the American people. American politicians used to pretend they liked the citizens whose votes they sought. Nowadays, though, Democrat politicians limit themselves to attacking their opponents; they also attack the American voters. The most famous example is Hillary’s "deplorables" statement:

Sen. Lindsey Graham said President Trump was within his rights to fire Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman from the National Security Council last week. "I think his reassignment was justified. I don't think he could be effective at the NSC," Graham said Sunday on CBS's Face the Nation. "As much as I support our military people telling the truth when asked — it's important they do — what have I learned in the last two years?"
