Michael Bloomberg will not run for president. That was the main outtake from the businessman and philanthropist’s op-ed for Bloomberg the other day. But the more important outtake was his announcement of a new climate change initiative: Beyond Carbon. “I will launch a new, even more ambitious phase of the campaign — Beyond Carbon: a grassroots effort to begin moving America as quickly as possible away from oil and gas and toward a 100 percent clean energy economy,” Bloomberg said.

If President Donald Trump wants to hold a massive parade honoring the military, he should hold it in Pyongyang, not Washington. The boulevards there are well built, long and wide, perfect for a showy and orchestrated military parade, which is why North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un holds so many of them. Massive tanks, assault vehicles and rocket carriers do not tear up the pavement or knock down statues of him, his father or his grandfather, or adjoining buildings in downtown Pyongyang. The people are protected as well. In Kim Jong Un’s parades there are no spectators lined up...

Take a look at this video of Olbermann waddling around Yankee Stadium over the weekend. What is he wearing?! Is that a duster or a lab coat or maybe a butcher's smock? When is the last time you saw one of those - other than the bad guys in Pale Rider? And what does he have underneath that ridiculous jacket? Did he steal 25 sweatshirts from the Yankee store and is trying to smuggle them out?

I happened to catch near the beginning of a commercial during the Super Bowl yesterday and was absolutely stunned in amazement. People were actually reciting the Declaration of Independence, one of the greatest founding documents of any nation in the world. Given the Super Bowl's world-wide reach and its large audience, whoever came up with this idea and then put action to it needs to be greatly praised.

Appearing on MSNBC's "The Ed Show", Reverend Al Sharpton said Monday he was planning to meet with the FCC next week in an effort to get Rush Limbaugh off the air. His plan? He intends to intimidate radio stations who air the popular talk show host by threatening their FCC licenses if Rush Limbaugh is on their schedule. Limbaugh is on hundreds of stations nationwide, including Spokane's KQNT, 590 on the AM dial. Claiming the public has the right to "not be offended", Sharpton said Limbaugh can say what he wants to at home - but apparently no where else....
