For Ruger fans, many love the Ruger 10/22 Takedown rifle. But, have you seen the 9mm carbine? If the smaller caliber can’t get the job done, the new Ruger PC carbine 9mm will. The Ruger PC Carbine comes in handy for personal defense and hunting at short-range. Add a suppressor like 22plinkster did and your neighbors won’t even know that you’re out plinking. Really great for a bugout gun. So what is so great about...

Does it really matter? We all love a good argument, especially when it comes to guns. But I’m always amazed when people speak in absolutes about the merits of the .45 ACP versus the 9mm. What's funny is that even with ballistic data that we can access to use to debate our arguments. It’s still not enough to see the value objectively. Reading data can be mind boggling or just too hard to visualize. Viewing pictures of the caliber aftermath may be the way to go. Back in 2014, the FBI Academy from Quantico, VA released a report on why...

When we think ricochet, we usually think danger. But can a ricochet be directed and actually used as a bullet? When we are planning our hunting lanes or setting up our targets for a little range practice, we often think of a ricochet as one of the things on our safety list. In some circle of tactical shooting, shooting down the hallway, you can actually ricochet a shot from the side walls. What we don't often do is think about using the ricochet to actually hit our target. And to be honest unless you are planning some trick shots you...

Have you ever wondered if your Apple Macbook Pro stop a .22 bullet? How about a 9mm? Well 22 Plinkster Youtuber was curious, so he put this technology to the lead test. If you didn't know the construction of an Apple Macbook Pro its pretty impressive. For the test a Smith & Wesson.22 long rifle caliber and 9mm is used against the laptop from approximately 7 yards away. Results As speculated the Mac Book Pro stopped the .22 cal round, no penetration at all. The big surprise came from the 9mm being the higher velocity bullet, still did not penetrate...

Bill Ruger would have turned 100 years old in 2016, and even though he is gone I believe that he would have been quite impressed with the innovative ï¬rearm designs that continue to appear on pages of his namesake company's annual catalog. Unlike Colt, Smith & Wesson, Remington and Winchester, which were all operating in the 1800s, the Ruger brand is relatively new. But in just over 60 years, Ruger guns have earned a spot near the top of all American gun manufacturers. In ï¬rearms manufacturing terms thatÂ’s a meteoric rise, and it doesn't seem to be slowing. The American...

In the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead, Negan stopped Rosita's bullet with Lucille, his barb wire wrapped bat. Though we don’t know how under powered the round loaded by Eugene might have been, it was at least powerful enough to cycle the slide on Rosita's Beretta. Here's a video that explores the reality of a scene from season 7, episode 8, wherein Rosita attempts to kill bad guy Negan by shooting at him with a handloaded 9mm. Could this really happen? Could a baseball bat stop a 9mm round? He takes the shot and the bullet goes clean through...

The classic Uzi 9mm submachine gun was developed by Uziel Gal in the 1950s for the Israeli military, and in its day was considered an excellent combat weapon. And although guns with similar features had become pretty standard by the end of World War II, the Uzi changed the paradigm for submachine guns with its compactness, ergonomics and easy handling. These reasons are also why the gun continues to be replicated by a variety of manufacturers. One of these, Century Arms, Inc., has found success with their semi-auto version, the Centurion UC-9. The original Uzi was made mostly of welded...

The folks from B&T AG formerly known as Brügger & Thomet AG of Switzerland created this super fast magazine loader for the MP9 and HK MP5 which shoots the 9mm rounds, but before you get it for your Glocks, read this first. A loader like this WILL NOT work with a single-position-feed magazine like a Glock (or pretty much any pistol) magazine. It will ONLY work with a double-position-feed magazine like most SMGs and rifles use. See the video here on how fast you can reload your magazine here.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation awarded Glock an $85 million contract to produce 9mm handguns for the better part of a decade, according to the notice published Wednesday. The contract marks a milestone in the history of FBI weapons as the agency famously ditched 9mm in the mid-1980s for a larger .40-caliber handgun. The return comes after 30 years of ballistic improvements to 9mm ammunition. The contract covers five items that include a compact pistol, a full-size pistol, an inert training pistol, a Simunition training pistol, and replacement parts, according to the solicitation. Specifications in the solicitation suggest Glock...

The Smith & Wesson revolver shown above was paid for by U.S. taxpayers. It was a finely crafted piece of machinery that served its country of origin well. It is legal to own in all 50 states, by nearly all citizens. But the Clinton administration chose to pay additional tax dollars to reduce it to this sad pile of scrap. The destruction likely occurred at Anniston Army Depot. The General Services Administration (GSA) has issued a solicitation from the FBI for a unrestricted number of 9mm pistols worth up to 85 million dollars. From GSA: The Federal Bureau of Investigation...

In a surprising break from decades of compliance with a 19th century treaty, the Army has said it will likely allow its troops to use hollow-point and frangible ammunition in its handguns, arguing the rounds are commonly used by law enforcement and for self defense and pose less of a risk to bystanders than fully jacketed rounds. The previous ban on the use of hollowpoint ammunition for military rifles and handguns stems from the first Hague Convention of 1899, where ammunition that “expand or flatten easily” was banned for use in war. Though the United States never ratified that part...

The Marine Corps has authorized MARSOC operators to carry Glock pistols, since most of the elite outfit's members prefer the popular 9mm over the custom .45 pistols the service bought them in 2012. The Corps issued a Feb. 2 Marine Administrative Message, or MARADMIN, that green-lighted Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command, or MARSOC, units to use the Glock 19, a proven design used by many units in U.S. Special Operations Command. The reliable, easy-to-maintain 9mm features a polymer frame and a 17-round magazine. The Marine Corps just completed an exhaustive search for a new MARSOC pistol in 2012. The...
