I was watching program on John McCain on Fox News this afternoon. And I realized something. There is only one Republican in this country that would have picked Sarah Palin as his running mate, John McCain. Those who accuse John McCain of just picking Sarah for a measured shallow cheap political trick are wrong. John McCain is the kind of guy who follows his gut feeling instead of conventional wisdom or polling data. He is like that baseball manager that brings in a pitcher with a poor ERA in to strike out the side. The football coach that throws a...

Well I was browsing the cess pool that is DU to see what level of mental derangement the left had managed to achieve today. And low and behold their latest attack. http://www.stupidsheeple.com/index.php/2008090140/latest/bristol-palin-gone-wild.html A-holes.

I'm a regular blue collar guy, and I just donated a years pay to McCain/Palin. I was worried sick about the rumors that he would go to Lindsey Graham, Leiberman, etc. McCain wasn't my first choice, but he picked a conservative. She's pro-life, a life member of the NRA, a hunter, and she just worked to build a new gas pipeline. She has a son headed to Iraq. She's young but already has far more executive experience than Obama. I've never heard her say God-D**m America. To me, she seems to be the personification of a Obamas' "bitter Americans" clinging...

RUSH: This is Sarah Palin and her accomplishments. Obama cannot make a speech like this. PALIN: In serving as the team mom and coaching some basketball on the side, I got involved in the PTA and then was elected to the city council and then elected mayor of my hometown where my agenda was to stop wasteful spending and cut property taxes and put the people first! (cheers and applause) I was then appointed ethics commissioner and chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. And when I found corruption there, I fought it hard and I held the...

Russia will need an additional $5 billion to finish the construction of its segment of the International Space Station (ISS) by 2015, the head of Russia's rocket and space corporation Energia said Friday. The ISS is a joint project of space agencies from the United States, Russia, Europe, Canada and Japan. The orbital station is likely to remain operational until 2020. "So far, we have allocated about $4.2 billion for the ISS project, but we will need an additional $5 billion to finish the construction [of the Russian segment] by 2015," Energia President Vitaly Lopota said at a conference dedicated...

My friend just called me to tell me how outraged she is that her daughter's school, Metropolitan State College of Denver, a PUBLIC institution, is shutting down for two weeks so the Teachers can volunteer at the Convention. Does this sound right to you guys? She said her daughter wants to know if she gets two weeks tuition back.

Jonathan Kay of the National Post (Canada) is sure that we'll miss the old media when its gone. So sure he wrote a paean to how great the media is... and he missed the target by a wide margin on every point he made. Unfortunately, he took a good point and made a mockery of the truth of the matter with his wrongheaded reasoning. In "You'll miss us when we're gone" Kay asserts that the media exists for "a genuine, altruistic desire for an educated citizenry" and hopes that predictions of its "imminent extinction" are wrong. He also claims...

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 8/5/08 — There has been a major backfire with presidential candidate John McCain’s TV ads comparing Barack Obama’s rock-star status and intelligence to celebrities Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. Not only has the highly- influentional Hilton family struck back, who once donated to McCain’s campaign, about the affront to their offspring, fans across the nation are riled by the commercials offending their women, no matter how controversial they may be. Moreover, Paris can sue McCain in many states who have “right of publicity laws.” Simply stated, you cannot use a person’ image to sell anything without...

A man in Minneapolis by the name of Tom Kleven is training for a triathlon. You know ... the bike, swim, run ... an exhausting physical accomplishment. So on Tuesday night Tom goes to Lake Nokomis to go for a swim. When he returned to shore, there are Minneapolis Park Police waiting for him. They are waiting because they wanted to cite Tom with a violation for "swimming too far." http://kstp.com/article/stories/S529469.shtml?cat=1 p> Tom was attempting to swim shore to shore, but when he got half way across the lake, a lifeguard ordered him to turn around. When he returned, the...

Des Moines, Iowa (AHN) -- Four people were arrested Friday for attempting to make a citizen's arrest on Karl Rove. The group of three Catholic workers and a retired Methodist minister and Peace and Justice Advocate were cited for trespassing and released after trying to enter the Wakonda Country Club in Des Moines where Rove was scheduled to speak at a Republican Fundraiser. The small group were acting under Iowa law that states private citizens have a responsibility to arrest someone if they believe a felony has been committed. That person is then turned over to police officials and a...
