A stranger bashed a 25-year-old woman in the head with a baseball bat in an apparently unprovoked attack in Chelsea this month, cops said as they released the first images of the brute. The victim was walking on Seventh Avenue near West 23rd Street around 10 p.m. Feb. 8 when the menace suddenly struck her with the weapon, authorities said. The senseless assault left herwith a cut and bruising, and she was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, police said.

Xuan Kha Tran Pham, 49, was arrested after the attack at Gerry Connolly’s office in Fairfax. Held without bond, Pham faced charges of malicious wounding and aggravated malicious wounding. Police said the man is suspected in a separate attack a short time earlier Monday. Santa Clara police fatally shot a woman who they say started attacking them with a baseball bat. Lt. Kurt Clarke said in a statement the officers, whom he did not identify, feared "for their safety," and fired at her about 4:50 p.m. Sunday in the 5000 block of Lick Mill Boulevard after they were called there because she called 911 "making threats to harm herself and others." As the first anniversary of the attack approaches, TC, now 30, and his family are still putting their lives back together. Intensive speech therapy through a program in Canada is one way; he wants to read again to his 2-year-old son, Jack. He also wants to teach him soccer someday. He wants to return to work and provide for Jack and Abby. TC and his family are also still absorbing how their lives will never be the same.
