SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A San Francisco Bay Area police officer was charged Wednesday with voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of a Black man inside a Walmart store in April.
The charge was filed Wednesday in the April 18 killing of Steven Taylor, 33, when San Leandro Police Officer Jason Fletcher, 49, responded to a call about an alleged shoplifter inside the store who was holding a baseball bat.

The parents don’t want justice, they want revenge.
IF the situation is exactly as described it seems that it was a bad shoot.
If the officer felt comfortable enough to try to physically take the bat away the gun should not have been necessary. The taser and awaiting back-up should have been enough.
However, if the guy charged the cop with a bat in-hand the situation changes.
More info is needed to make a judgment. You simply cannot trust media reports on the police. Especially, in a place like the Bay area.

Here’s a novel idea, blacks should stop deliberately doing things that attract the attention and interest of the police. Stop committing a vastly disproportionate amount of crime, and stop resisting arrest when apprehended. That would drastically reduce the number of interactions with the police and would drop the number of blacks shot by police to a very very very low number, even lower than the 10 or so that happen every year.
Of course, we can NEVER expect blacks to take responsibility for their own bad behavior. Those who reject this idea must think that blacks are natural born criminals, and isn’t that racist?
AP is on a mission to seek out and publish any and every incident that might agitate the general population.

I watched the video a couple of times. It looked like the black guy was approaching the officer. But it didn’t look like he was charging the officer. It was more like a lurching random walk.
And from what I could tell, the bat was not being raised when the shots were fired. The black guy actually had the bat pointed at the ground.
I dunno. If this was a good shoot, it’s going take a bit to convince a jury. I think the main thing in the cop’s favor is that he first tried a taser, and it didn’t work.
How is it you include women as a group? Examples of women needing to be shot and have uproar, please?
