On this episode of The Resistance Library, Sam and Dave discuss the history and significance of the Betsy Ross flag. Second only to Old Glory itself, the Betsy Ross Flag is the American icon. Its clean design is similar to our current flag, with 13 stripes and only 13 stars in a circle (representing the equal status of what were then the 13 united individual sovereign nations). This simplicity is perhaps the reason for its popularity among American Patriots and Constitutionalists, as it hearkens back to an earlier time when America was still a place of freedom and resistance to...

Second only to Old Glory itself, the Betsy Ross Flag is the American icon. Its clean design is similar to our current flag, with 13 stripes and only 13 stars in a circle (representing the equal status of what were then the 13 united individual sovereign nations). This simplicity is perhaps the reason for its popularity among American Patriots and Constitutionalists, as it hearkens back to an earlier time when America was still a place of freedom and resistance to tyranny. But while this flag is the oldest attested flag for the American nation, many people don’t know its history....

Sen. Ted Cruz gave Colin Kaepernick a history lesson on Thursday after the former San Francisco 49ers player posted a quote from abolitionist Frederick Douglass on Independence Day. “What have I, or those I represent, to do with your national independence? This Fourth of July is yours, not mine…There is not a nation on the earth guilty of practices more shocking and bloody than are the people of these United States at this very hour,†Kaepernick tweeted, quoting from Douglass’s “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?†speech, which was delivered on July 5, 1852 to the Rochester Ladies’...

Tunnel to Towers Foundation CEO Frank Siller said on "Fox & Friends" Tuesday that four Gold Star families will receive brand-new homes thanks to the proceeds from sales of Rush Limbaugh's "Betsy Ross" flag T-shirt. Limbaugh said Monday on the show that sales of the $27 shirt had skyrocketed in recent weeks, enough for $3 million to be donated to the foundation, which helps the families of veterans and law enforcement. Siller, who started Tunnel to Towers in memory of his brother -- a New York firefighter who lost his life on 9/11 -- said the goal is to build...

BETSY ROSS She was a Quaker (she didn't own slaves). She married a man her family disapproved of. So they disowned her. She learned a trade. Upholstery. She and her husband opened a store. Then war broke out and her husband left to fight for the colonies. He died in battle. She kept the store running by making regimental flags for the war effort. She married again. This time to a man who was fighting the British by sea. He also died. She kept sewing and running the store. Her home was taken over by the British when they occupied...

The summer season has ripped off the thin scab that covered an American wound, revealing a festering disagreement about the nature and origins of the United States. The San Francisco Board of Education recently voted to paint over, and thus destroy, a 1,600-square-foot mural of George Washington's life in San Francisco's George Washington High School. Victor Arnautoff, a communist Russian-American artist and Stanford University art professor, had painted "Life of Washington" in 1936, commissioned by the New Deal's Works Progress Administration. A community task force appointed by the school district had recommended that the board address student and parent objections...

A little more than a week after pulling state incentives from Nike following its decision to pull its Betsy Ross Flag shoes after former NFL star Colin Kaepernick raised issues around them, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) reversed his stance. Ducey tweeted Thursday welcoming a Nike facility to Goodyear, Ariz., saying the company will bring more than 500 jobs and $184 million to the state. Ducey was one of many conservatives to publicly blast Nike and announced he would instruct the state to pull financial incentives for Nike after the company decided not to fully release a Betsy Ross flag...

Nike’s decision to pull shoes depicting the Betsy Ross flag from the market because it might offend someone shows a gross lack of knowledge about the flag’s true meaning and origin. It’s time to dispel the myths about this flag and set the record straight. The Betsy Ross flag is not a colonial flag. It is the first official flag of the United States of America. The Betsy Ross flag is the first flag of the United States of America, not of Britain’s American colonies. Independence Day, July 4, 1776, marks the day that the Declaration of Independence changed the American...

Last week Nike pulled a Betsy Ross American flag inspired sneaker after former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick complained. The backlash was swift, especially since the move came right before Independence Day. Arizona Governor Doug Ducey pulled tax incentives for the company, which planned to open up facilities in the state. Retired U.S. Marine Johnny "Joey" Jones, who lost both of his legs serving in Afghanistan, took things to another level. #NewProfilePic pic.twitter.com/1vNAFf03HA— Johnny (Joey) Jones (@Johnny_Joey) July 5, 2019 Thank you for your service and your continued service to enlisted men and women and veterans everywhere. Palmetto State Armory responded to Nike’s decision to pull its Betsy Ross Flag shoes by releasing gun parts with the flag etched on them. CBS News reported that Nike pulled the Betsy Ross Flag sneakers after Colin Kaepernick suggested that the flag was tied to slavery. Palmetto State Armory thanked Nike for helping bring attention to the flag with the decision to cancel the Fourth of July shoes. Palmetto State Armory is etching the flag on AR-15 lowers. They put the words “I Stand – 15” under the flag in place of the moniker “AR-15”.

Former San Francisco 49ers Player Colin Kaepernick, apparently still riding the endorphin-high triggered by his beating up on a pair of sneakers, has now gone after the whole of American independence. In a now-infamous tweet, Kaepernick quoted Frederick Douglass’ “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” speech, pairing it with a video showing scenes of slavery, civil-rights era abuses, and apparent police brutality against African Americans. A voice-over features the narration of James Earl Jones reading a portion of the Douglass speech. The video makes the poisonous accusation that American independence does not include black Americans. Kaerpernick posted...

Many elites in the media this week have cited abolitionist Frederick Douglass’s famous 1852 speech “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” as evidence of the former slave’s condemnation of America, and another excuse for them to express derision about the United States on its birthday. If they read the whole speech, however, they’d see it is in fact a testament of support for our nation’s founding principles and gives even more reason to celebrate the Fourth of July and American patriotism. The historic speech was given on July 5, 1852, in Corinthian Hall to a white audience of...

As the nation has celebrated its birthday with displays of its contemporary power and prestige this week, two of its cherished historic symbols came under fire - its first flag and its third president.

The heat Nike is taking over the controversy surrounding Colin Kaepernick and the Betsy Ross Flag Shoe is having another effect ... enhancing the brand's appeal to investors. Nike shares are surging in the wake of the company's decision to recall its special Betsy Ross Flag Air Max 1 USA sneakers after Kaepernick complained the 13-star flag design was offensive because it's been co-opted by several white nationalist groups. Since Nike pulled the plug on the sneakers following Kaepernick's objections earlier this week, Nike shares have seen a 2 percent increase since Tuesday, adding nearly $3 BILLION to the shoe...

Colin Kaepernick’s history teachers should be ashamed of themselves. They either failed to teach him real history, or they succeeded in indoctrinating him into a false political narrative. Either way, he was short-changed and missed out on one of history’s greatest stories. To associate the 1776 American flag with slavery is to miss the purpose and genius of the American Revolution. The former football player turned well-paid corporate activist put the kibosh on a special edition Nike shoe because it sported the Betsy Ross flag on the heel. I’m sure you’ve heard that much. Kaepernick’s reason, which I’m sure you’ve...

(CNN) A veteran-owned company is facing off against Nike again, this time over a Revolutionary War-era flag.Nine Line Apparel, a Georgia-based company founded by retired Army Capt. Tyler Merritt, is releasing "Betsy Ross" flag t-shirts after Nike decided to recall shoes featuring the same design.Nike was set to release a USA-themed Air Max 1 this week but, according to The Wall Street Journal, asked stores to return the shoes after complaints from former NFL star and activist Colin Kaepernick."Nine Line Apparel, along with relentlessly patriotic Americans everywhere, cannot believe the total ignorance and lack of understanding displayed by both Colin...

As you've heard by now, Nike decided to pull the sale of a Betsy Ross American flag themed sneaker this week after woke and washed up athlete Colin Kaepernick complained it is tied to racism. But there's just one huge problem with that argument: Democrats running for president have officially lost it. Beto & Castro strongly imply that the Betsy Ross flag is a symbol of hatred. Do the rest of the Dems agree? Pictured here, of course, is the notorious flag prominently featured at President Obama's 2nd inauguration. pic.twitter.com/yfM9U8rG7Z— Tim Murtaugh (@TimMurtaugh) July 3, 2019 Attention Nike: The flag Colin...
