Spike Lee Ridicules Herman Cain: ‘Negro, Please’ Posted By John Nolte On October 19, 2011 @ 3:22 pm In Celebrity News, Politics | 147 Comments The New York Times piece Lee refers to here is the most appalling piece of race-baiting I’ve read in years. You can read my write-up about it at Big Journalism [1]. The reaction the Times was looking for is exactly this kind of thing from Spike Lee.

Republican presidential candidate and businessman Herman Cain says he is open to joining a GOP ticket as vice president, but not if the other name on that ticket is Rick Perry. Cain told the National Journal, "Based upon Governor Perry's position on some issues, I would not be comfortable being his vice presidential nominee."

Michael Scheuer says that Obama should have kept his “big mouth” shut on Egypt. Appearing on the Glenn Beck show on Wednesday, former CIA analyst and Osama bin Laden expert Michael Scheuer was part of a three-man panel to discuss how well the Obama Administration has handled the Egypt quagmire. Anyone who’s ever heard Scheuer’s comments on Obama with regards to foreign policy knows that Scheuer does not give the president anything close to high marks. So it was in keeping with that mindset that Scheuer blamed Obama for screwing things up with regards to both sides in Egypt: the...

Former President George W. Bush was happily stunned when legendary former heavyweight boxing champ Muhammad Ali stood facing him. Bush was at a Barnes & Noble Booksellers store in Phoenix today signing his book, Decision Points when the Greatest entered (with the Secret Service) to shake hands. With his famous comic humor, Ali sat next to Bush and held the book up as press and public snapped photos.

Exclusive: China's John Bolton Posted By Colum Lynch Wednesday, September 8, 2010 - 6:46 PM Share Sha Zukang, the U.N. undersecretary general for Economic and Social Affairs and the organization's most senior Chinese official, offered U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon a toast last week at a retreat in the Alpine resort town Alpbach that degenerated into an intoxicated rant against the United Nations, the United States, and his boss, Turtle Bay has learned. "I know you never liked me Mr. Secretary-General -- well, I never liked you, either," Sha told Ban at a dinner attended by the U.N.'s top brass, according...

When Vallejo Mayor Osby Davis told the New York Times in a recent interview that gay people don't get to heaven, he broke not one, but two cardinal rules of politics in a single sentence. With a simple phrase, Davis breached the separation between church and state and grabbed the electrified "third-rail" in Bay Area politics with both hands. He told the reporter that gays are "committing sins and those sins will keep them out of heaven." After the Nov. 20 article, the mayor claimed his words were taken out of context. The Times responded by providing an audio link...

Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) wants to ban a smoking device that several House Republicans have trumpeted for helping them quit smoking. The battery-operated device, known as an electronic cigarette, looks like a normal cigarette, but contains no tobacco and instead of smoke emits a nicotine vapor when the user inhales. Reps. Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.), Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) and Collin Peterson (D-Minn.) have all been spotted using the device on Capitol Hill. But the device, which is sold over the Internet and at select mall kiosks, needs to be tested by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) before it is deemed...

Predator drones flown from base in Pakistan, U.S. lawmaker says Sen. Feinstein's surprise disclosure likely to complicate joint campaign against Taliban militants Greg Miller | Washington Bureau 7:06 PM CST, February 12, 2009 WASHINGTON, D.C. - A senior U.S. lawmaker said Thursday that unmanned CIA Predator aircraft operating in Pakistan are flown from an airbase inside that country, a revelation likely to embarrass the Pakistani government and complicate its counterterrorism collaboration with the United States. The disclosure by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), the chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, marked the first time a U.S. official had publicly commented on...

BIDEN: "This election year the choice is clear. One man stands ready to deliver change we desperately need. A man I'm proud to call my friend. A man who will be the next President of the United States...BARACK AMERICA!!!"

It's hard for Obama supporters to play the age card any longer, as their potential veep is all of six years younger than McCain. His mouth will be an absolute time bomb. Will he refer to Delaware as a "slave state" again? Will he discuss who's behind the counter at 7-11s? I'm reminded of a Rudy Giuliani response when Biden took a shot at him - "Joe's a good guy, we all criticize each other during this time... But for Joe Biden to talk about qualifications - he's never run a city, he's never run a state, he's never run...

Jesse, Jesse, Jesse… I’d like to feel sorry for the guy but, you know? This ain’t his first go-round with the media and I’m sure it ain’t gonna be the last. Was what he said really that bad? Who knows? Back to Jesse… I remember back in the 70’s Jesse Jackson did a spot on Saturday Night Live where he sat behind a news-desk and recited Dr. Seuss’s “Green Eggs and Ham” (Click here to see video) (http://youtube.com/watch?v=EKOHrYhH3EE). It left a huge impression on me at such a young age. Not because it was eloquent or powerful, but because I...

Election 2008: Joe Biden tossed his hat into the presidential ring Wednesday, along with some choice racial gaffes. Curiously enough, his fellow Democrats had little to say about this. We'd like to know why. The senior senator from Delaware said he'd run for president as a foreign policy wizard, but in a wide-ranging interview with the New York Observer he didn't exactly show any diplomacy. He badmouthed other candidates and did little to show voters what he has on offer. However, Biden didn't conceal a thing. Commenting on rival Barack Obama, Biden all but told him he was a credit...

Writing the history of our time in song. MIDI - IN DREAMS She was a country star who had been shining I would think about her at night About me I sometimes heard friends whisper They knew that something was not quite right I'd close my eyes and I'd drift away All night inside my mind with her I'd play Things would get hot...dreams sometimes do Oh, dear chunk butt Natalie, I'm wanting you Wet dreams you give to me Wet dreams, wet as could be And that is why they put me in a mental facility But just before...

In an interview, Young was asked whether he was concerned that Wal-Mart causes smaller, mom-and-pop stores to close. ``Well, I think they should; they ran the 'mom and pop' stores out of my neighborhood,'' the paper quoted Young as saying. ``But you see, those are the people who have been overcharging us, selling us stale bread and bad meat and wilted vegetables. And they sold out and moved to Florida. I think they've ripped off our communities enough. First it was Jews, then it was Koreans and now it's Arabs; very few black people own these stores.'' Young said he...

One of the most persistent themes in Noam Chomsky's work has been class warfare. The iconic MIT linguist and left-wing activist frequently has lashed out against the "massive use of tax havens to shift the burden to the general population and away from the rich," and criticized the concentration of wealth in "trusts" by the wealthiest 1%. He says the U.S. tax code is rigged with "complicated devices for ensuring that the poor -- like 80% of the population -- pay off the rich." But trusts can't be all bad. After all, Chomsky, with a net worth north of US$2-million,...

Stern weighed in yesterday with the confession that he had a nose job nine years ago — right after the filming of his movie, "Private Parts" — and liposuction not long after to suck out the waddle of fat under his chin. He explained that, while he'd always hated his nose, doctor after doctor told him not to touch it. Finally, he said, one sketched out a simple fix that would pare away his speed bump, so he decided to have the surgery.

In his latest editorial on his website Bob Beckel calls Tom Delay a punk with a big mouth. Of course Mr. Beckel offers no proof to back up the baseless allegations he makes against Delay. Here is the editorial in it’s entirety: Just another Bully A Column by BBP Editor Bob BeckelTom Delay reminds me of a bully in my hometown high school. He scared people, told them he carried a switchblade, and would use it. He was a thug. One day he said something about my sister. He lasted 15 seconds, until he started to cry for his momma....
