Michigan Freepers.....I have been looking at some of the polling lately in Michigan, it shows suburban Rep. Mike Bishop, MI GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill Schuette and MI GOP Senate candidate John James losing to their Democratic rivals. Michigan a battleground state has a lot of Independents. A lot of them voted for Trump-Pence. Are they the apathetic, apolitical types that were inspired by Trump's message but are apathetic or indifferent to regular, traditional politics as usual. Is Trump's coattails able to help the MI GOP, or is it suburban white women lashing out on the MI GOP and other Midwestern...

Local officials are investigating after a Michigan county ran short on ballots after a historic voter turnout for a spate of elections on Tuesday, The Detroit Free Press reported. The news outlet reported Wednesday that 34 percent of voters attempted to cast a ballot in a host of state, local and national elections on the ballot in Oakland County. That number was five percentage points higher than area officials were expecting. Officials attributed the shortage to a confluence of factors, including two open Congressional seats to replace Reps. LANSING (WWJ) – Two former state lawmakers are now facing felony charges in connection with their scandalous love affair. Attorney General Bill Schuette said his decision comes after a review of emails, phones and computers following the resignation of Tea Party Republican Todd Courser and expulsion of Cindy Gamrat in the fall of 2015. “Representatives Courser and Gamrat, sadly, failed to serve their constituents in an honorable fashion,” Schuette said, during a news conference Friday. “And, worse yet, worse yet, we allege — and we will prove in court, beyond a reasonable doubt — that they broke the law.” Courser...

"In my past service as a Congressman from Michigan, I supported a strong national defensive capability and opposed relations with Iran, a country hostile to both the United States and our key...

LANSING, MI - While Michigan Republicans are still debating when to hold their 2016 presidential primary, some of the party’s top political strategists are making the case for potential candidates. Welcome to Michigan Political Points, my weekly roundup of news, views and YouTubes from the state Capitol and beyond. CRUZ NEWS: Former Michigan Republican Party Chairman Saul Anuzis, now working as a political consultant, penned a column this week making the case for a Ted Cruz presidential nomination in 2016. “He’s the candidate many in the mainstream media and Washington chattering class love to hate,” Anuzis wrote. “He is demonized...

PPP's final polls for Governor in Florida, Michigan, and Illinois find incredibly tight contests in all three states. Florida is the closest. Rick Scott and Charlie Crist both have 44%, with Libertarian Adrian Wyllie polling at 6%. PPP usually has a policy of not releasing poll results to the decimal, but when we find a tie on our final poll of the cycle somewhere we make an exception. Crist is at 44.0% to 43.8% for Scott- in terms of raw respondents to the poll that's 526 for Crist and 524 for Scott. Wyllie may be playing a spoiler role for...
