Officials arrested Dominique Davonah Brand, 29, of Marion, for his connection to the kidnapping and murder of 80-year-old Mary Ann Elvington on Wednesday, according to a tweet from the Horry County Police Dept. A source connected to the investigation told us Brand turned himself in Wednesday to authorities. Brand is also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, the post said.

A Pittsburgh man stands accused of tackling and stabbing a 12-year-old boy at a McDonald’s in an attack that police say was racially charged. MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 37-year-old IHOP employee was assaulted in the early morning hours Thursday after confronting customers who dined and dashed. Officers responded at about 5:45 a.m. after receiving a report of an assault in progress on the 2200 block of Killebrew Drive in Bloomington. Police said the IHOP manager was assaulted after confronting a large group in the parking lot who had left without paying their entire bill.
